No surprise to see @TreatyStones and @Mark Renton giving it #biglicks though.
I’ve been in this business a long time and I can categorically say that @croppy_boy is the most difficult agent I’ve ever had to deal with. @count of monte cristo was very positive in early discussions but with the early evening deadline it just wasn’t possible to convince croppy_boy to get his client to sign on time.
Looks like our victory tonight will be overshadowed by the sad passing of Nelson Mandela.
A pity for the boys. We were bloody excellent in testing conditions, especially given it was a crack unit who’d never played together before and we were without our three most experienced players in @Monkey Allen, @Rocko and @Scrunchie.
I took over managerial duties and needed to appoint a captain. As I was considering my options, young @taytomurphy93 approached me quietly and told me he was nursing a relatively serious ankle injury with our physio fearing ligament damage. Taking the recent example of Roy Hodgson with Daniel Sturridge, I decided that I wanted to test the young man’s character and to see how he’d cope with playing through an injury. I said that the only way to get over ankle ligament damage was to run it off, demanded that he break his balls getting up and down the pitch and gave him the armband as an incentive. What a brilliant piece of management - the kid had a stormer, was running as strongly as ever late on and rifled in the game sealing goal at the death. He’s also the youngest ever captain in the illustrious history of TFK AFC.
But what about the other guys? Hall of Famer @ClarkeyCat only went and scored a hat-trick. 3 outstanding finishes and one was particularly superb - thrashed into the corner with authority from distance with his weaker foot. He was wonderful and reminded me of Justin Fashanu at times tonight.
Fellow Hall of Famer @briantinnion was a rock at the back and his surly defensive partner @Cesc4 was equally solid and also picked his moments to steal forward and grab a crucial brace. Meanwhile @Ambrose delivered a quality display beside tayto in midfield - linking the defensive and attack, a calm presence on the ball, creating chances and not shirking his defensive duties either
All in all, this was a splendid 6-3 victory for TFK AFC.

TFK is more than any one player, it is a belief and a belief can never be extinguished
