Only took 3 hours
Buddy bought a 15000/15000 Dillon Brooks card for 250USD
There were no other 15000/15000 cards going for less than 1500USD at the time so he took a punt.
Sold it for 1500 this morning
What is it?
Digital trading card platform licensed by the NBA.
A rort apparently
Sounds ridiculous.
A lot of crypto down today anyway.
Gamestop looks fine though
So I bought a pack on Topshot for 12 euro.
Davis was the best I got in it.
There’s gonna be 10k of these minted. I have number 9990.
There’s 31 currently on the market
I think I’ll get more than average due to the serial number
Reading that I feel like my parents trying to work out how to programme the VHS player to record
Think of it as digital trading cards…
Think of it as cretins preyed upon by predators.
Someone is after buying a #9793 for 1500
Is it possible that you’d never find a buyer for your Anthony Davis clip?
Yeah there is. I’m gonna see what the cheapest 9990/10000 is going for and price up accordingly I’d say
So there are only 10k of the Davis clip but 35k+ of the other two bums. So the Davis clip has more value due to scarcity? Is this always the case for the high profile players eg Lebron’s block on Iguodala?
Correct. There are less of that moment minted and its a popular player.
It would be the case for the block too but I had a look there and I don’t think there is a moment for that yet.
There was 59 of this moment minted and the cheapest for sale now is 100k
One lad paid the 100k for #1 a few weeks ago.
#23 is a good seller also and Lebron is number 23.
So 10,000 people have a digital card for a meaningless clip. Which at a minimum is in total worth €1.3m. I’ve seen a lot of pyramid schemes but this is up there
Why are they worth anything? Is it like investing in a painting with potential value?
I’m as interested as anyone in the next get rich quick scheme but haven’t a clue what this one is all about.
