Syriza are now fucked. Having gone to the people campaigning for a no vote, they can’t accept a worse deal without another referendum. If they go to the people asking for a Yes vote on a worse deal, after the Greeks have been without money for 5 days, there will be blood on the streets. Merkel is the only player that matters in this, she will tell the EU and Obama for that matter to fuck right off if noises are made about debt relief. Debt relief for Greece means debt relief for everyone, which will crash the German and French banks and economies. The French economy is fucked anyway but there is no way Merkel will allow Germany join it. Greece to be gone from the Euro but stay in the EU by early next week. Merkel will send aid (food stamps) to Greece to help them through their crisis. Unless all the Brussels shite talk stops the Euro will collapse, it’s hanging in by a thread as it is in the hopes of a Grexit.
If the Greeks are fucked of the EZ it may well mean the beginning of the end for the EU which will seriously fuck Germany. Deutsche bank has debts that make Anglo look positively prudent and the more the markets wobble the nearer the implosion of Deutsche becomes.
I agree a chaotic Grexit could bring the whole house of cards down, so imo a managed Grexit is being planned. This is why the Greeks have been sent home to come up with a plan that everyone knows they can’t come up with, its just buying time. I agree on Deutsche, but they are a ticking time bomb anyway regardless of Greece. A managed Grexit would be nothing in terms of risk compared to a run on the Euro which could light a match under the pile of Deutsche derivatives (which at a mere 55 Trillion Euro is enough to make Lehman look like a credit union).
Of course. A guy who was a leader of solidarity as a student. Was prime minister of a 40 million population country for eight years. The only one that recorded positive GDP every year since 2007. He probably knows fuck all.
Pfft, you’d like us to be Greece’s shoes right about. Noonan and Enda dragged this country back from the brink of disaster. We’ll build statues to them in time.
Or else we’ll just stick their heads on the ones we buy from Greece in the upcoming firesale.
