The whole superstar dj thing was mental. Lads getting paid fortunes to play a few oul cds for an hour and then move onto a few more clubs in the same night. Getting all sorts of drugs and women thrown at them too.
Mark McCabe and that maniac 2000 shite being a prime example
Check out Francois YouTube channel. He’s uploaded a hape of records from his collection. Went down a rabbit hole there the other night for about 2 hours.
I was big into Drum n Bass for a few years…mid to late 90s Drum n Bass was the height of it. Went to a few of the big all night raves in England as a chap around 97/98… DJ Hype came to Costello’s in Limerick in 99 I think.
Halcyon days.
This is one of the best sets of all time… I wore this tape out from playing it non stop
DJ Hype and MC MC @ United dance in 1996
Fabio and grooverider were decent too - abbey discs used to have quality mix tapes
There was a simple enough rule back in the day - anything on the R&S label was brilliant.
I remember MTV in the Ormond multimedia centre in July/August 1996
Would love to see Paul live in a smaller indoor venue
Seminal.
