brilliant
Everyone is in the same position with trying to get time off work, having the money etcā¦
Anyway, letās have some creative thinking about this.
There are plenty of options.
Fly over and do hostels etcā¦
Camper Van.
What other options are out there. Letās not rule anything out.
With that in mind I dropped these lads a mail earlier.

Fuck it, Dr. Peppers.
Feel free to guess on closest on what they ask for three weeks.
Iāll go with ā¬30,000
It can fit up to 14.
If you had 14 paying 2k eachā¦
Iām going. Travel arrangements will be confirmed around the 2nd Dec. Probably take 6 weeks or so off work.
Urkaine is a kip,Poland is like New York in comparison.
Good man TASE. At this happy time I am willing to ignore your hurtful comment. Puke has first dibs on the servantās quarters and Larry is a member of the cycling fraternity so that is a strong claim in my view.
As TFKs representative on the ground I am happy to provide whatever advice I can on logistics etc. You can throw questions up on this thread or else PM me.
I am based in sunny Krakow and there are no games on there unfortunately. It is a good place to visit in between games however. England, Holland and Italy will be based there during the tournament.
Are you sure about Holland, Italy, England being based in Poland. When was that decided? The draw wonāt be that open if the teams in pot one and pot 2 have already been allocated to the host countries.
No I mean they are going to stay there and train during the tournament. There are two very good new stadiums in Krakow (Wisla and Cracovia). I canāt understand why Krakow isnāt one of the venues. With all the tourists it is the city best equipped with Hotels. Politics.
Krakow probably has enough tourism income without needing the Euros though?
Balbec, Iām trying to decide on a figure I need to start squirreling away each week. Can you give us some estimated prices on things like pints, krokiety, whores and hostels?
Those hungry Cracovians would screw every penny they can out of it.
Beer will range from around 7 zlots to 12 zloty. The more touristy haunts will charge more as will the Irish pubs. The FX rate is around 4.3 zlots to the Euro,5.1 to the pound. THe rates slipped a bit lately it was around 4 for a long time. Cans in Tesco will cost around 4 zlots each.
krokiety will be very reasonably priced, not sure if the girls will,no doubt they come with price ranges as well. Fair to say that the tourism boom has opened up that market considerably in recent years.
Hostels are the best bet I reckon. Towns like Wwa or Wroclaw will be better equipped than others. Student accomodation is also a good option, a lot of the Unis are part residential. A top member of this board stayed in a hostel in Warsaw only last week so he might be able to share how much he paid. Apartment rental is another option. It will be interesting to see how much fleecing is done on prices.
Crucial to know what group we will be in of course. It would be great if Ireland were in Polandās group for craic and sporting reasons but it will make tickets harder to get for the travelling fan.
Hopefully the bandwagoners who havenāt been on any away trips will find themselves at the back of the queue for tickets.

If we are in Poland i would be heopful of getting over for a few days, say 4-5 days. I wouldnāt go to Ukraine. I would price my chances of going as 6/4 yes, 1/2 no.
It all hinges on the draw on Dec 2nd. I know a couple of people who have already booked a one way flight to Warsaw for 125 euros.
Poland is easily accessible but Ukraine would be a nightmare as the venues are a 10 hour drive apart and much less accessible than the polish venues. It appears Interrailing doesnāt cover Ukraine either.
Group A and is going to be based in Warsaw and Wroclaw. I believe we will be bottom seeds in whatever group we qualify, thus making us Team A4. Does anyone know if that is the case? If so we would play all our matches in Wroclaw where hostels are available for less than ā¬15 a night.
8th June Poland v A2 19.00 Warsaw
8th June A3 v A4 21.45 Wroclaw
12th June A2 v A419.00 Wroclaw
12th June Poland v A3 21.45 Warsaw
16th June A4 v Poland 21.45 Wroclaw
16th June A2 v A3 21.45 Warsaw
If drawn in Group C and if we are 4th seeds again it means we play our first two games in Poznan on 10th and 14th and final game in Gdansk on 18th. Poznan to Gdansk is about a 4 hour drive isnāt too bad.
The FAI representative team will be bottom seeds but not necessarily team A4/B4/C4/D4 etc. In finals draws a numbered ball is picked out of a separate pot to determine the positioning of teams in the group, therefore we could be team A2 or A3 if drawn in that group.
Iād like to helpfully point out that Wroclaw is pronounced something like Broz-swov. Ridiculous fucking language.
Vorizlov I believe?
Itās a real shame Krakow isnāt hosting any games. Beautiful city and handy enough for a trip to Auschwitz if youāre into that sort of thing.
If Ireland are drawn in Poland itās 50:50 if Iāll go. If they are drawn in Ukraine I wonāt go. Obviously the needs of my employer will come first, they will be there for me long after this tournament is a distant memory so their needs come first.
Why the lack of love for Ukraine? Is it purely the distance between stadiums or is it something else?
More proof as if it were needed that Brian Tinnion is the most successful member of the boardā¦
For me itās just the stranger danger aspect of it. Everything Iāve heard about Ukraine indicates itās a tough place. Also distance and Iām generally uncomfortable in strange places.
Trust, encouragement, reward, loyaltyā¦satisfaction.
