TFK Euro 2012 Arrangments

Body found in Polish River where James Nolan was last seen :frowning:

Nothing confirmed yet.

Very sad news that. Might turn out best in the long run to have the body but thatā€™s little consolation now.

Doesnā€™t look good. Very sad.
If it is him I wonder would there be some foul play involved considering the circumstances in which he was last seen.

What circumstances were they?

Preume he was pissed, also was it the night Poland were knocked out of the Euroā€™s that he was last seen?

Desperately sad for his family.

What circumstances were they?[/quote]

There was a minor altercation in a bar between one of his party and some local lads.

His mates said they lost him after a fight with the locals. They split up and when they regrouped couldnā€™t find him.

Itā€™s him anyway. Sad story.

RIP :frowning:

Thatā€™s awful news and devastating for the parents of a lad who really wasnā€™t much more than a kid. There but for the grace of God could have gone a lot of us out there to be honest, including some members of this forum as the video of Rocko crashing head first into a glass door showed. Drinking is great and all that but but it gets dangerous when taking it to the levels that a lot of people were taking it to. I started getting a bit paranoid after the first four or five nights. Your mind changes and you start thinking differently. Iā€™m not at all surprised that something like this happened. I was quite lucky the night before the Italian game when I got absolutely twisted drinking after taking paracetamol tablets earlier in the day to try and stave off a cold, and fell about ten steps down a steep, slippery stairs in Crime Story nightclub in Poznan. I was happy to accept merely some heavy bruises as a result of the fall. I tried to go easy on the drink and still ended up drunk 10 of 12 nights. Every day you could see lads twisted by early afternoon, lads going at it from 10am or trying to pull 36 hour sessions. The night of the Croatia game a I found a lad I know completely paralytic at around 5am barely able to stand up and not knowing where he was staying. After about 4 hours of texting round about where he was staying I eventually got him back to his apartment whereupon he decided heā€™d recovered enough to crack open two more beers each which we drunk on a third floor balcony, whereupon he passed out again and I left him to go back to where I was staying, myself by now completely oblivious to the very obvious danger of leaving him on a balcony.

Yeah, there were some fellaā€™s completely broke up from drink, found a lad fast asleep on some steps outside a hostel my friend was staying in Gdansk, he was rather heavyset and we manage to lug him up two flights of stairs to his room where he proceeded to try and start a row with the two of us and threw a swipe at my friend, luckily he didnā€™t connect or he would have got it.

Saw a few lads in Torun skulling glasses of white wine at 1 o clock in the day, saw them later again that night about 8 pm absoluteley lambasted drunk, messy out.

Thankfully I stayed on the pints all week aside from one night in torun where I decided to have a few Vodka and Red Bull (or the cheap polish equivalent they sold in the nightclub) and by god I knew about it the next day.

Do lads not know themselves well enough to know the consequences of e.g. skulling wine in the afternoon. Like thatā€™s a pretty simple one.

I really donā€™t get this with people. By the time you are 25 you should know exactly what you can drink and what you canā€™t drink and how much of it in order to not ruin yourself with a hangover or leave yourself paralytic.

If you intentionally and consistently make yourself paralytic you have bigger problems.

Agreed, you would say fair enough to a young lad in his late teens or early 20s who is on his first proper drinking holiday losing the run of himself but the lads who were firing off the white wine (4 glasses each in less than an hour while they had their lunch) were all close to 30 Iā€™d say.

People will always get shitfaced on away tripsā€¦

Just ask DB

Yep I do get shitfaced on away trips it has to be said.

RIP Jamesā€¦

Never saw so many pissed people in my life. The fumes coming up off the crowd were incredible.

Yeah some fair points there. It doesnā€™t even take that much alcohol to have a race to a set of glass doors or to sleep at a bus stop or to start barking at people in the middle of the road like various members of our travelling party did.
