i literally checked everywhere. KAYAK is the business for that sort of stuff. Best i got were 500 but there were two seriously long layovers. Id rather spends the extra few hundred and avoid all the hassle
While I’m glad of the way it worked out, it’s a bit disappointing not to be able to reel off 4 or 5 places you’d to stop off in and two or three different modes of transport.
At one stage I was looking at a bus to Dublin, flying to barca, train to Lyon, train to geneva, flight to Dublin changing in London and then bus home. That would have been a way better story to be able to tell when we gathered on the banks of the Rhóne than, ya I just drove to Dublin and flew direct
On the way home Monday - Left apartment in Bordeaux at 6am with about 2 hours sleep, flew to Berlin, arrived at 10.30am… Left Berlin at 6.30pm local time, got in at 8.00pm Irish… had to get the 9.30 bus to Cork, got to bed about 1.45 am and had to get up for an interview the next morning - I only found out about it on the way out the previous Thursday…
