Now that the dust has settled on the election can all fellow TFK Fenians sign in and discuss all republican matters in here.
I think we had a decent election and were unlucky in a few constituencies… obviously Donegal was a disaster. A return of 25 would have been magic but our votes have been up nearly 50% and the younger voters who voted for us 5 years ago have all stayed on board.
Austerity or not, there is a core demographic in this country who only know FF or FG and will never change, as this recent election has shown, and we were always only going to increase seats marginally. However, the fact that most of these folks welded to civil war politics are all the wrong side of 50 and will slowly erode over the next 10-20 years.
We have by far and away the best TDs in the Dail, the ones the most integrity, backbone and selflessness. Committed volunteers like Adams, Ferris and Ellis who put the citizens of this country first.
Wrong thread. The people of this island voted to settle all our differences peacefully and politically. We were instrumental in leading the peace process and will continue to be a the leading voice in this regard.
Signing in for before/after work and weekends. I’m Fine Fáil / Fianna Gael from Monday - Friday inclusive between 9am and 5.30pm unless it’s a Bank Holiday or I’m on annual leave or if I’m at lunch or if I’m taking a break.
Is there no half way house here? Be objectively critical of FG and FF but stop short of bursting into shouts of shout “Up the RA” at meetings and singing Come Out You Black and Tans while atrolling down the corridor, perhaps?
Yes, but I’m a severely unhinged and unbalanced individual and would struggle to straddle that moderate position. I need to be all in, one way or another.
