TFKNFLFFL 1st Division 2014
Yeah its a done deal at this stage. Julio and his near 40 point performance for me last week was a massive loss. An inconsistent season from my team. At least I get another crack at scrunchie again!

And it could be worse too, @Blake is playing a player on IR in his 5th/8th place playoff game.
Like I give a bollocks about a fucking minor placing playoff. I’m not the Irish Womens Rugby team.

I didn’t bother checking my team. The season is over as far as I am concerned.

I would love it if @Fran and I did a clean sweep

TFKNFLFFL Division 1 Final 2014

@braz83 v @Fran

The 2014 sees reigning champion Braz take on perennial playoff contender Fran, in what is an intriguing match up between two sides who have had fierce battles over the years.

Frans team is built on the sturdy foundations of Laveon Bell, but is quite inconsistent at QB with Roethlisberger and Newton his rotating pairing. He will be looking for a big Steelers win this week, as Heath Miller also takes the TE spot for him. They will find it tough against Kansas City however, and the Pittsburgh game is a critical factor in this match up.

This is all the more emphasised in that Braz has Jamal Charles as his RB, but who has lost some carries to his understudy Knile Davis this season. Braz has the option of playing both in his line up, but the stand out performance of rookie Jeremy Hill this week means he is a lock for starting this weekend. The awful QB play of Cutler hasnt held Braz back, but he surely must be considering the waiver wire this week, as backup QB Johnny Manziel posted 0.5 points this week and will not be considered for the starting position.

Fran has his WR corps built around the underwhelming Calvin Johnson this season, but has a rotation policy of some very fluctuating scoring WRs to take the other 2 spots. Who Fran goes for this week will be key, and his management will be really tested. Meanwhile Braz has been reliant on the ultra dependable Antonio Brown, and with Big Ben throwing to him, its bad news for Fran. Julian Edelman is a nice addition to the WR corps, and playing the Jets, should get a lot of looks and ball thrown his way. The pick up of in form free agent Charles Johnson gives another attacking option that if things go well, could prove to be key.

Fran has the reliable Gostkowski at kicker, and should score well as the Patriots face off with the Jets. And with the Eagles defence against Washington, he should also score well here. Braz has Dawson at kicker against the Chargers which isnt a great match up, and Detroit against Chicago could go either way, but you;d expect them to score well.

In all, I think Braz’s most recent form (139, 162, 100, 99, 137 in past 5 games) and the match ups this week favour him. Fran (97 ,157 ,156 ,116 ,98) in his past 5 games has the capabilities to post a high score, but is dependant on his QB to score well, but whose favourite target is Braz’s key receiver. Braz has a slightly better average score (126.5 v 125) and both teams have had high top scores (Braz 166, Fran 160) but Braz has hit high scores more often. There have also been some poor scoring (Braz 81, Fran 87) but both have been pretty consistent in hitting triple figures.

I think Braz may shade this one, and deny Fran the title that has eluded him for so long. It would be great to see Fran win, and add another name to the trophy that has had 5 different winners for the past 5 seasons.

That’s an outstanding preview, aside from one typo. Well done, @Gman.

I just found 2. In future I will get you to proof read for me in advance. Need to keep standards up.

Great preview @Gman. I hope Big Ben throws the ball to Antonio Byrant all game long, whoever he is.

Best of luck to my good pal @The Big Cheese and The Spearmint Rhinos this weekend

Aye, getting my Steelers surnames mixed up. Stupid cunt.

That’s outstanding commissioning @Gman. I note that myself and @Fran have had a history of going in runs of victories against each other. Hope to fuck that doesn’t continue. It would be a wonderful feeling to make history by becoming the first franchise owner to successfully defend the TFKNFLFFL title.

I hope @Fran isn’t scarred too much by that rout in the playoffs last season. We all saw how @braz83 can resort to parking the bus in his semi-final but I could see him going for a more swashbuckling style in the finale. Fran has never beaten Braz when Braz has scored more than 100 points - I doubt that’s lost on Braz who will likely air it out early and often and hope to keep the game loose and high scoring. I’m expecting lots of talk from Braz about Cutler handing the ball off to Charles and Hill but come the weekend I think we’ll see lots of play actions and plenty of deep throws.

I don’t wish to undermine the confidence of my QB before the big one, but it’s clear that the identity of this Whodat team lies in establishing the run.

Cutler is some cunt for getting himself dropped in the week of the final.

I’ll stop you there…

And now Edelman is out too, it’s all going pear shaped for Braz! Smith away to Steelers is a big call at QB.

The curse of former/reigning champions strikes just at the last minute! Not sure how big a call Smith is compared to my other options, not exactly a sparkling set of free agent QBs in the league.

Bad luck alright! Think I’d have chanced Hill against Giants or Orton against Raiders. Fucked either way tho I’ll give you that.

Hoping for a solid 15-20 points from Smith and hope the rest of the team sees me through. Admittedly that has become complicated by losing Edelman and the fact that my opposition QB will be throwing to Brown. I may reconsider tomorrow, but think I’ll stick with it now.

@braz83, Eddie Royal on the bench

Smith is a good choice given he has Charles at RB and Smith doesn’t throw touchdown passes to WRs

Just watched it, can’t fucking believe it. Picked him up in case Edelman didn’t make it and all. Just wasn’t thinking straight last night and said I’d leave my team til today, knew the Chargers were playing but didn’t make the connection in my head.
