Things have changed a lot though. Peter Casey showed what was possible and that was pre covid
I think there’s an essential element with people who buy into the awkward squad/far right mindset where they desire that politics should be purely about entertainment - not about truth and not about competence.
It’s about fake easy answers to complex problems, sloganeering, trolling and celebrity. It’s about cheap dopamine hits.
Politics as pure pantomime.
