It is a well worn strategy for backwater folk to try and comandeer the emigration issue
The whole purpose of asylum is to help people in danger. Is that not made a mockery of by people throwing away passports to get in. Does that not take an asylum place from someone who actually needs it. If not asylum seekers they are economic migrants. Who are needed for economies etc but there’s a system there. A politician suggesting turning a blind eye and letting all comers in with no enforcement like deportation would be laughed at in Canada, Australia, Japan for example.
Also so much for the greens virtue signalling promise of a house for everyone who arrives. That’ll be quietly shelved now the social media likes are in the bank.

Whatever about the legalities of immigration or otherwise we will need migrants to try to fill the hole in the pension fund in 20 or 30 years time as we don’t have any government party willing to grasp the nettle on that front either.
