It seems that most if the adverts on RTE seems to be from public or semi state bodies
Of course you would. But having a station that broadcasts endless imports and reheats is not public service broadcasting. Also the staffing levels and stations need to be pared back. Shut down the whole thing, sell montrose and hand public service broadcasting over to rnag, tg4 and lyric
Source here anyway
I think that model is one that could work. Clearly define public sector broadcasting requirements, fund accordingly and leave the rest (as you said imports etc) to commercial tv. Much smaller footprint in Montrose (or move out further).
And their friends. It’s their money to spend and they earnt it being such fabulous commercial business people. More rugby anyone?

Who knows if this makes it the right decision but it does put some context on it
Indeed. They’d already chosen to spend the money on RTÉ.

Look, you’ve clearly no idea how business normally works. That’s fair enough - you’ve had no exposure to it.
I’d suggest though that if you ever decide to abandon the harsh existence in the civil service and venture into a commercial role - don’t use the argument you’ve just gone with.

That’s a lovely little put down

This gobshite must have a different pair of stupid glasses for every day of the week.
I’d suggest you don’t know how a majority public funded operation works. It also appears you don’t understand how being dominant bordering on monopoly in a market works.
Cork
Ah Jaysus
Do we still need more wimen on corporate boards? It would appear that RTE were packed with them at senior and board level and it’s a complete shit show. They were suppose to sort out this corruption.
They’re either not as corrupt as men and have not spotted it going on under their watch, or they are more corrupt than men.
The RTE wans are quick to pull the mental health cards when under heavy scrutiny.
This is the result of bending to the woke agenda, promoting people who are totally unsuitable for roles based on their gender etc
I’d suggest you don’t know how a majority public funded operation works. It also appears you don’t understand how being dominant bordering on monopoly in a market works.
Maybe that’s the core of the issue - the two operations in the same entity is set up to fail because the culture/outlook/methodologies of each is near on the opposite to the other
I’d give Niamh Smyth one
That fucking jennit Dooley, this thing is turning into a farce, every gobshite local councilor piling on for their 5 seconds
