3 points apeice in McHale Park, 10 minutes in
he was a disgrace Sidā¦one of worst refs iāve seenā¦didnāt even know the fcukin rulesā¦players like laverty and Oāconnor at full forwrad for kildare are great to have as they lay off more ball to the runners than they do shootā¦great have such unselfish players in a teamā¦
The referee was a shambles all right. Calling over the Down defender to seemingly book him only to then allow Monaghan take a free to the unmarked Freeman for the goal was ridiculous.
There was an incident in the first half where Kevin McKernan was booked for what looked like a 50-50 clash with a Monaghan player after the ball had gone which the ref immediately called back and gave a free for which Monaghan scored. Then with about six or seven minutes left Tommy Freeman shouldered a Down player in the head after the ball had gone which the ref saw but didnāt give a free for. Then when Down eventually did get a free he went back and booked Freeman. Two pretty much identical incidents but with different outcomes.
You just canāt motion to book a player and then let the game go on.
what this?.. :strokechin:
Itās been an outstanding Ulster Championship so far, once again proving that the Ulster Championship is by far the biggest prize in GAA.
The very best of luck to Jim McGuinness and Donegal this weekend
Having been told what the likely Laois team will be for Sat night, Iād gently advise betting men to consider a cut off Carlow.
Will Brendan Murphy be back for Carlow?

Dunno tbh but Laois team named and confirmed that Timmons O Leary McMahon Conway Sheehan all not starting for various reasons. Kavanagh at corner back, knowing fuck all about Carlow and having seen Laois in the second half against a very limited Longford side, Carlow have little to fear. Home advantage could swing it I guess but if Carlow have anything to them they have fuck all to fear here.
According to todays examiner hurling may have finally found a use in Kildare.

Seanie Johnston will start for Coill Dubh hurlers in the first round of the Kildare SHC today, and will therefore be eligible to feature with Kildare for the remainder of their Leinster and All Ireland SFC campaign.

The former Cavan Gaels star met his new team-mates last night after it emerged members of the Coill Dubh team had serious reservations about Johnston being parachuted into the starting XV for their first championship match of the season.
However, it was subsequently confirmed that Johnston will start and then be substituted at the earliest break in play in the match against Ćire Ćg/Corrachoill.
Thatās some fucking joke
Wonder what reception heāll get from the crowd if he comes on against Meath

It is, but it was the inevitable consequence of Congress half-trying to ban this kind of transfer but providing an obvious loophole like this.
Val Andrews and Ewan MacKenna on Newstalkās panel now.
Disappointing that there are some people who are willing to see their club prostituted like this. Coill Dubh? La Dubh more like.
