Words can not describe the respect that I have for Jim McGuinness and his Donegal team.
Weâre just not ruthless enough in front of goal. Weâre creating the space and the chances.
What score is it lads ?
Donegal 1-9 Down 0-9. 47 minutes gone.
1-09 to 0-09 for Donegal.
Who is winning the Minor match?
I think Benny will come back on for the last ten minutes.
Thanks
Dublin 3-13 Meath 1-10. 52 gone
You could drive a bus through that defence.
Mark McHughâs point typified Donegal there. Turned the ball over from Down and broke at pace with runners either side of the man in possession. McHugh took the ball at full speed to burst through the middle and tap over.
Goal then from the resultant kick-out. Frank McGlynn whoâs been driving forward from corner back in all of their games so far taking the pass from Michael Murphy to finish emphatically.
2-11 to 0-10 now.
Donegalâs counter-attacking is brilliant to watch. Down well and truly done at this stage. Second goal sealed it.
Donegal and the great Jim McGuinness will be hard bet
Did my eyes deceive me there or did some auld lad walk onto the pitch and knock that ball back across to the Down keeper before it had gone over the end line?
Donegal 2-14 Down 0-12 after 64 minutes.
To think those fucking morons on the Sunday Game were talking about McGuinness âletting downâ Donegal people with the way they played last year. The year before he took over Down beat them in the Ulster championship and Armagh hammered them in the qualifiers. One of the best jobs any manager has done with a team in a long time.
He is the footballing equivalent of Ger Loughnane - a top class manager
Full Time: Donegal 2-18 Down 0-13.
A wonderful second half display by Donegal.
Impressive from Donegal in the 2nd half.
Down fairly wilted after the second goal went in.
Bang bang in Croker, Red Rover timeâŚ
O Gara has plenty of detractors, and rightly so, but he did excellently twice for that first goal and youâd think thatâs the game over now.
Impressive for 15 minutes.
Rubbish for the next 20 mins.
Devastating for a minute.
Game over.
Why didnât he just fist it into Broganâs chest though? It was fairly bizarre. I wouldnât be surprised if he was trying to solo the ball.
