Think that might have been Mr Totti. You can hear him at this game too.

No wonder there was confusion about whether Galvin had gotten a straight red or two yellows. Filth.

If that pans out you will be a rich man. Cant see anything other than Dublin in the final.
On the other side we have no hope against Donegal.
We are favourites with the bookies but they must be much more sentimental than you. You will clean up over the next few weeks.
Will you call the final. Surely ye wont have much trouble with Mayo?[/quote]
Iāve seen a massive adjustment in the Mayo attitude and I think CP suits them more than Hyde Park it any such places. I have seen the Dubs twice and I really think that instead of being a team just ramping up they are a team ticking along and I think that they are the type if group that need a mission and the hunger might be an issue. If it comes ti a stage where Mayo stay with them for50-60 mins I thi k Mayo have the hunger, fitness and tactics to win. I have alot if confidence in their management.
Iāll be putting money in Donegal fir sure. The bookies give odds on history alot and (rightfully) stick with the proven team at this stage if championship. I think theyāll be undone this time though. I really think they are there to be run ragged.
The reason I for Cork is based o. Them having the best players and a fully fit squad. There us a massive danger in the Kildare game though. Corks players have played very little football matches in the past 2 months. Nothing since the Clare game and back to the Kerry game bedew that bar a couple of hurling club games. Now the thing is Kildares match sharpeness will absolutely be better. But Cork on the other hand have a stored match fitness from being together for long seasons over a few years, no amount of track running or even qualifier games in the same year can beat that. So even though it will be cagy, I think Cork will get thru it, remember their most complete performance over last few years was coming in as Munster champions with a big break against Tyrone in 09.
After that I think once they get the match ups right they might surprise Donegal somewhat in matching them in certain fitness aspects and also Cork will try and run over them unlike mist other teams who generally now try ti avoid them and play around them, which actually suits Donegal. This is also one if the reasons I see Donegal beating Kerry. The other reason is u donāt belies Kerry have the legs.
Now horse maybe you could outline why you think differently and who will win each game and why rather than just throwing out generic shite that would be great.
The reason I would not pick a winner for final is due to injuries really. Were Cork ti be without shields, cadogan, Donnacha, Sheehan, kerrigan or Goulding i think one of them missing would cause issues. 2 missing and weāre goosed. 3 of those have pretty constant injury issues and Cadogan is going ti be put to the pin if his collar in the next few weeks. Je canāt miss hurling cis he is gone to fuck at it and he canāt miss any football as they will be alot of tactical awareness needed to win this All-Ireland.
Kev
Were you pissed writing your last post or have you suddenly developed dyslexia? !!
iPhone and I just couldnāt be fucked correcting anything.
You get the gist of it, Cork will win, Kerry will lose. Convince me otherwise
Fair enough.
In summary I think Dublin will beat Mayo in the other semi. Dublin have too much for Mayo. Mayo dont have the forward line to trouble them Moran apart. Mayo have improved but not enough to beat a team like Dublin. Dublin will remember 2006 but they are a different team now and Gilroy will have them right. Mayo might pull a performance out of the hat and beat Dublin but that would also mean they would be beaten in the final no matter who they meet.
On the other side: Cork will beat Kildare and if its less than 7 or 8 points I would be worried for them. Again Kildare lack forward and inventiveness. They scored a point in the second half against Sligo. Kerry walloped sligo after the cork game and sligo troubled mayo (see above)
The hardest one the call of all the quarters is Kerry Donegal. Anything could happen I think. Donegal ran Dublin close last year and have improved offensivley and create chances for all kinds of players including the full back line. On the other hand who have they beaten and I also saw Kerry handle them easily enough in the league (i know its league but its all I have to go on form wise) and Kerry will be their biggest test since they lost to Dublin. Donegal could cruise past Kerry and cruise to the Al or else be handled fairly easily next weekend.Thats why I wouldnt even bet your money on it.
If its Kerry Cork in the semi finals I would fancy Kerry. Our match ups would be better than June and I know we can exploit your back line-aided by Cork no doubt again. Cork and Donegal? I would know more about that on Sunday evening-hopefully not though.
Interestingly most Kerry people wanted Cork or Mayo for the quarter final.
I cant see anything else but Dublin in the final. I can also say who ever wins this years AI will have earned it especially if they come from the Cork Kerry Donegal side of the draw.
I fail to see where ye can change the match ups to be honest should they be needed. While Kerrys backs will have improved Nick Murphy and/or Donnacha will always trouble O Mahoney, there is only one Marc O Se to take someone else and I would have defensive concerns for every other Kerry back getting roasted (not just by Cork) bar maybe Killian Young. Cork have more forward options than Kerry now, a better midfield and a defense that has not conceded goals almost as a rule. I share your concerns (delight in your case) on 2 if our backs. But I donāt think Kerry will have enough of the ball or enough forwards to hurt Cork enough. I donāt think Carey will play anyway so hopefully itās not too much of an issue. Darren O Sullivan would be a worry assuming Noelie takes GAlvin.
Anyway I think this debate should be held for now. Donegal is a massive, and intriguing, hurdle first. It will test Jack big time as itās more than match ups now, really itās a zonal game your going to be playing and I wonder do Kerry really have the legs for that. I can see frustration creeping in. The GAlvin thing from the weekend is laughable. If that happened in Cork youād hear the āare those fellas really that stupidā comments from Rathmore. Him and a few of the other older hotheads will be tested in this game, thatās for sure.
All things being even I think Cork would beat Kildare as you say by a nice bit, but things are nit even. Plus I donāt have this arrogance ye seem to have that you have to play a certain way to win football games. Kildare seem to know their limitations and play accordingly.
I think with the intensity if these games injuries an suspensions could well be the final deciding factor.
I would love a Cork-Dublin final.
By the way, Cork wanted Kerry too in the 1/4ās
Surely everyone wanted us? Or is it a case of Cork thinking its best getting Kerry before they get a head of steam up?
Partly true Iād say, after 2 easy games fir Kerry it would be a good time ti play them and I think mentally it nit being a final would also help. But honestly I donāt think this Cork team hold any fear now. Theyāll respect and be completely on their game and any major dip in firm would see them beaten but I think they are past those complete under performances.
Kev
You only worry about 2 of your backs? Fair enough. Carey will play by the way. Carey Canty and Kissane tick tick tick
Re your earlier post if Cadogan or Shields were unavailable ye would not win a big match
Surprised to see you list Kerrigan and Goulding ahead of Paddy Kelly.
Better midfield than Kerry? Interesting.
Sure we will see how it comes out in wash.
Im sure all Cork are praying for Donegal. And ye wanted Kerry more than Laois Kildare or Down pull the other one!
Have to agree with Horse, Cork have two top class defenders - Shields and Cadogan - and the latter is under serious pressure these days. And we havenāt much of any depth at the back.
Kev
We will know soon enough but who would replace Carey?
I would see Corks backs as Carey Shields Cadogan
Kissane Canty Noelie
Cotter?
Gonna be some craic between the two boys should Cork and Kerry actually end up meeting
:guns:
Surely Canty is being held together by cello tape. I think it will be a Donegal/Dublin Final. I think Donegal will be too strong for Kerry. I also think the fact that Cork havenāt played a decent match since they beat Kerry a good few weeks ago now will no do them any favours. I can see them getting past Kildare because I really donāt think Kildare are as good as people make them out to be. Donegal have been going well and they seem to have the hunger and the drive and a couple of tougher matches than what Cork have been through this championship that I think will see them over the line and into the Final.
How badly will it affect Dublins chances of winning the final given that they wont have any sort of a test before they meet one of the other big 4 in September?
Not too implausible any of of that.
But edit the bit about Canty before Kev sees it. ā¦
I think Dublin have a bit more about them than what they have shown over the last couple of games. I actually think Gilroy was trying a few things and also trying to keep the hype down as well. Imagine what it would have been like if we had of thrashed Meath and Wexford. I would be hoping to see Fennell getting dropped now and with Connolly back in again I think you will see a much sharper more intense Dublin form here on in.
FAO Blueboy.
What is the name of the former Celtic youth who now plays for Laois, his name escapes me. Also, is he any good?
Cahilane?
