The Battle for Liam 09
How many Clare fans do ya reckon will turn up against Tipp?

8k?
Five to ten range anyway, depending on the weather.

Fair weather would be apt for Clare hurling fans alright.

Funny as I was talking to the secretary of a limerick city club at the weekend and I was told that there is very little demand for tickets for the Limerick V Waterford match…Took a ticket myself…

I am chilled out I’m just telling him to fuck off. Waterford have gone well out with all the bookies and Galway for some reason are still rated top three. Beyond Joe I’d love to know what they’re basing this on.

Ya sales are slack alright but it seems to have been the same in all counties so far. People seem less inclined to pay money a few weeks in advance, most will probably torment there club secretaries now for the rest of the week looking for tickets.

There will be no shortage I’d say. Gaa revenues are going to go through the floor this year. The recriminations for the waste of the last five or ten years are going to take off big time.

Listen to Puke Robin Fool. We’ve no time for aggressive behaviour around here. If it continues I’ll have to put an end to it.

Some leper from Galway said to me earlier, ‘You must be happy you avoided the two big guns’. ‘Huh’, says I, ‘Galway got one of the big guns and Dublin got the other.’ How many Leinster senior championships have those cunts won? Big guns my hole.

I’m very happy with our draw. We’re a better team than Dublin and should beat them. That would see us qualify for our 9th Leinster Final in a row (I think), thus confirming our status as one of the two powerhouses in the province.

 good one. needed a laugh.

Nothing wrong with the GAA attendances this year thus far.

When is this ever a good idea?

Cody to publish autobiography

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

KILKENNY hurling manager Brian Cody is penning an autobiography which is set to hit the shelves in the autumn.

In the book, entitled ‘Cody’, the Cats boss who has claimed six All-Ireland titles, including the last three in-a-row, will reveal the beliefs and philosophies behind Kilkenny’s success. He will share his experiences as a player and a manager which have helped define him as Kilkenny team boss.

“This is a hurling book,” Cody said, "but, I believe it will also be a book for sports people and business people, and people in every walk of life.

“I know that the difference between winning and losing can be minute, and I hope that in my book people can see what exactly has made the difference for the Kilkenny hurling team.”

This story appeared in the printed version of the Irish Examiner Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Why doesnt he wait til he’s quit then?

Someone was probably going to do the book without him so he decided to jump on board too. October is the right time for this book to come out. It’d be stupid if this comes out mid hurling season. We’ll see.

Sure maybe he’s quitting this year. Finish up in Autumn with the book out.

Exactly what I thought as soon as I read the above.

He is not going to leave if we win the AI and he has a chance at 5 in a row.

Which is why I dont understand him bringing it out now, or even publicising it nopw. How about he just works away on it in the background and have it ready to fly once he announces it?

Never saw anything good come out of a book being publicised while a person is still in the role.

Exactly. He can hardly be fully honest in a book while still involved in job, e.g. if he thinks a certain player or the county board are cunts he can hardly say it now while he is still working as manager.

Great timing, from a commercial point of view mind.

He gets it out right on top of the 4 in a row; this’ll guarantee massive free press and a unstoppable news cycle, another year and a lot more than some of us would be sick of the sight of him and his black and amber.

I wonder will he come clean about Charlie Carter?
