The Battle for Liam 09

Cadogan going great guns at full back…

What a stupid fucking free to give away there from Curran? Man out on the sideline under pressure and he fouls him. That shit kills you in a tight game.

Agreed
Tipp have it now

What odds Aisake to score last min goal to win it for the langers?

Cork have left this behind them…too many missed chances and stupid wides…Big question marks over the tipp sideline, Callinan and Mcgrath were doing great work on the 40, did little or nothing when moved inside…

tipp still a long way off winning an all ireland…

Cork will put it up to any team in the qualifiers…Aisake with a few more games under his belt will be a serious operator

I fuckin’ hate Tipp. Shower of cunts.

:clap::clap::clap:

Congrats Gallaimh, we ran ye close, but ye had too much class there today.

Cork could have had that. Tipp are a long way off.

Super stuff, had Tipp to win -6 which probably overestimated them, but had them in a double with Tyrone as well so not too bad. Would imagine that Cork will be happy enough with some of that. Can’t imagine Offaly will be looking forward to the qualifiers, Cork look like they’d eat them based on the games over the last couple of days.

Cork had them and they let them off the hook. I’d say they’ll be fierce disappointed.

Two crucial moments: Giving three yard handpasses in your full-back line is fucking suicide, put your head down to fuck and drive out with it. They deserved to concede the goal from it. Secondly, Timmy McCarthy’s goal being called back for the penalty, and Horgan not having the confidence to stick it.

Can’t see Limerick or Waterford stopping them in the final

Just after checking the score there. Fucking hell. Presume after Young’s red card the floodgates opened.

Was disappointed with horgan today, missed some easy scores and didn’t look too interested

What about Kelly’s near-certain goal being “called-back” in the first half? Duignan said there is no advantage rule in hurling so if that’s the case they were both correct decisions and there is no “calling-back” about it.

Whatever about Cork getting started in the second half (much like most of last year), and “letting them off the hook”, it’s not good enough playing for bursts like that, and I thought Tipp “had them and let them off the hook” in the last 5 minutes of the first half. If Tipp hadn’t wobbled during 30 mins - 35 mins, they might have won by double figures.

Ah Jesus Cork had a heap of chances to punish Tipp in the last 15-20 minutes. Tipp were completely on the ropes coming around the final bend and if Cork were a bit sharper at all they had them. Tipp look no better than last year at the moment. They have a lot of improving to do.

Their falling in the half forward line came back again in the second half…couldn’t win a ball and Ronan Curran came into the game rightly…

Niall and Timmy’s days as intercounty players are numbered, both were poor again today…Naughton didn’t do much when he came on…

Tipp will improve from that game all the same, the likes of O Mahoney and Kelly will get better with games…Shane Maher will probably replace Fanning, who wasn’t hectic…

Tipp should beat Clare with a bit to spare, probably 7 or 8 points but would fancy Waterford to beat them in a Munster final…

Ah the floodgates were always going to open. They only opened in the second half really though, 3 goals just after half time.

It was never going to go any other way.

Heard Ollie Canning cried off beforehand…how did Kid Joe go?

Joe done what he liked, but Healy got the goods. Ollie had a niggle I heard, no point risking him against the likes o Laois.

Laois done all they could, but just dont have it at the moment. Christy Ring might be on the cards.

Willie Hyland, Brian Campion, James Walsh, John A Delaney all hurled manfully, but we were never going to have the firepower to trouble them. Young lowered the blade a little bit, him and Chunky had to go.

Did chunky gget sent off too…

Willie Hyland is a noble little hurler, very dynamic…
