The bigotdome, U2 & the pitch

why did they have 3 concerts there mid season - if the pitch isnt 100% up to scratch for the games today & tomorrow surely they are putting commercial interests ahead of the game their raison d’etre

why did bono get the go ahead for 3 concers but UNICEF were laughed at for their charity game

I don’t know, but in a recession the GAA should be commended for bringing two big weekend to the capital in terms of revenue for the city…

Pitch should be alright, plenty of other stadiums have had their pitch dug up/relayed midseason with little or no problems…

pitch is a disgrace, patches everywhere & it appears large swathes of the stadium have been closed for health & safety reasons after the concert- there must be still parts of the stage scattered around the hill

Pitch looks grand to me…lads seem to have no problem keeping their footing and the ball is running true on it on it…

its bogball - its played in the air:rolleyes:

hopefully no cork player breaks a leg due to the pitch- that would be terrible

ignorance really is bliss…

Its a disgrace really. That stadium was built mainly due to the work of volunteers up and down the Country doing stuff for nothing, including the players and now it seems that the GAA games themselves are of secondary importance to the chances of making a quick few quid. Its also a disgrace that the hill is not open.

big time- every effort should be made to keep the costs down for fans travelling from the country:mad:
although - the stadium was primarily built by the taxpayer

All GAA stadiums were made possible because of the underlying premise of the volunteer, indirectly or otherwise.

Its not a cost thing that its a disgrace the hill is closed Today, Its the fact that some tosser somewhere made the decision based on monetary reasons. GAA people should be allowed to watch GAA games from whatever vantage point they desire. Its not for some bean-counter in Croke Park to decide.

no one in the GGA volunteers for the good of the game- they are divided into 2 categories - the GGA volunteer who is like a FF & sees it as a chance of social climbing or to make business contact or the GGA volunteer who volunteers to train the kiddies teams & id prefer not to elaborate on that but no GGA volunteer does it for the god of the game

Hardly…social climbers generally gravitate towards the golf club or the rugby club…the reason you would prefer not to elaborate on your 2nd alleged strand of GAA person is because you would struggle to provide an example to back it up.

Not being from a GAA County a chap like yourself will obviously struggle to grasp the true meaning of the GAA. The sense of community, the comradery of Junior B, Friendships and that. You must learn not to apply soccer principles to GAA people, tough as it may seem - Did Big Jock Know?

Typical of the “Grab All Association” really

its like people joining FF - for self gain -

struggle to find an example:eek::eek:i assume your joking considering what has come to light in recent months -

dont rewrite the christian brothers out of your history - FFS the artane boys band was run by paedos & the GGA were in bed with these paedophiles-they willingly allowed paedophiles to use the GGA to cover their acts

Generally you know you have a lad licked when he starts using the symbols in his replies and that, it smacks of desperation.

Also a good clue is when a chap starts becoming economical with the facts, drawing wild conclusions in a futile attempt to regain the higher ground, thrashing about wildly trying to taint anything and everything in the sad hope of justifying his hopeless position.

economocal with the facts? heres the link http://www.childabusecommission.ie/index.html
go to any of the schools & do a search for hurling or football & you will see all the evidence there- go to the Artane boys section- read about the band & it says that the band was used as the public face of the school that covered up what was going on inside- its all there- the question is why the Gaa gave the paedophiles a platform to cover up their sins

you cant rewrite history- the people who were main perpretators of child abuse in this country were also the driving force of the GGA over the last 60 years - they like you had an irrational hate of football

Come on now - Go quietly - You’ve been exposed.

more symbols?

Rattled.

I’d nearly go so far as to say Badly Rattled.

answer the question or go quietly?

why did the GGA allow itself to be a platform for paedos to hide their crimes?
