Yes. The Manchester United equaliser was a classic of the “what the hell just happened there” genre.
February 1992 was very close to the point of “when did society peak”.
@Cheasty can we get a definitive list of sporting events/achievements that in effect signalled 'the end of a process/era", after a long number of years of hard work and whereby the winning team effectively broke up/lost the manager/gave up seriously competing or started to phone it in immediately afterwards .
A few off the top of my head:
New Zealand 2015 RWC - Back to back World Cups - McCaw, Carter, Nonu etc all retired straight after.
AC Milan 2007 CL - an old team on the wane that got their redemption for 2005. Everyone kind of knew that was it for them after that.
Dublin Football 2019 AI - 5 in a row, history made, Jim Gavin resigned, Bernard Brogan retired, McCaffrey walked away. They may well have won again in 2020 but it wasnt the same at all.
Tipperary Munster Football Champions 2020 - lost half the team and fell off a cliff straight away afterwards.
Corofin All Ireland Club Championship 2020 - 3 in a row done, history made. Lost all hunger immediately afterwards. Never the same team again.

Offaly hurlers 2000 All-Ireland final defeat to Kilkenny was a classic of the genre. They haven’t reached a Leinster final since.
England rugby World Cup winners 2003. Capitulated in the following 6 Nations and barely won a game of note in the following cycle to the 2007 World Cup.
Kerry 1986 to complete the 3 in a row.
Manchester United league winners 2013. Ditto Liverpool 1990.
Kilkenny hurlers 2015.

I think winning should be a prerequisite here which eliminates Meath 2001 and Offaly 2000.

Very true. The fall off thereafter was surprising. It was as if Sean Boylan was left behind with modernised football overnight. I’d still have been interested to see what he’d have done with them if he’d been given another term in 2005. He reckoned the likes of Stephen Bray, Big Joe Sheridan and Co had great potential at that stage.
Champions League final 2006 was the end of that great Arsenal team of the late 90’s/early 00’s.
Galway footballers did very little after the 2001 success despite having a relatively young age profile at the time. The quarter-final defeat to Kerry in 2002 spelled the end of a great few years for them.
Duffry Rovers 1994. Won about 8 football championships between 86-94.

I think Sean was done. Meath as a county were like Nokia moving into the age of smartphones.
They won the Premier Minor this year with a fine team. Badly needed with them languishing in Intermediate A.
Cork losing to Kilkenny in 2006 finished that Cork team prematurely but the criteria has to be a winning conclusion it seems.
