Thanks. The risk is all loaded on one side, and they don’t have a shop front afaik, but if that’s normal business here that’s ok. Had them done in Manc and just paid the bill at the end.

I know a few lads here said it’s normal.
But I don’t think it’s normal.

How many other lads have you paid full whack up front?

Nobody else.

Same.

I can see why a business would want to do it, but I’d have thought the faith on our side was demonstrated with the big deposit.

I can’t believe it’s big money.

Conversely, the late delivery on their side wouldn’t inspire confidence

Two window companies went bust recently. They were trading off customers deposits. Eventually they both collapsed leaving customers out of pocket.

I wouldn’t give them another cent. They have 40% and I’d be hoping that they’re reputable. If they want to play hardball I’d suggest paying the balance to their bankers subject to release when the job is finished to your mates satisfaction.

I recently bought a kitchen out of homebase. You buy it in full and they hold it until its fitted. About a week after the lads fitted it homebase went bust. I was very very happy that wasnt two weeks earlier.

Took me 4 days to sell out :joy:
