I’m guessing they’d say he’d be better if he changed to the orthodox grip. They were forever trying to get me to change mine.
I play regularly with a fella who is right handed and plays right hand on top in golf. He plays off 6. Outstanding golfer and swing looks natural but sometimes he looks a bit stilted or too upright due to right hand on top. He also struggles with the odd flop shot or pitch over a bunker around the green because the right hand on top closes the clubface down.
