The Celebrity Spotting Thread Part Twee (or help Flatty identify the celeb he just spotted) (Part 1)

Just spotted political commentator and newspaper columnist Noel Whelan crossing Westmoreland Street. He was wearing a grey suit and he was sporting a strong tan.

Well done. Thatā€™s a good spot.

I canā€™t give that one mate sorry

Thatā€™s no spot.

The only Noel Whelan weā€™d class as a spot around here is the former Coventry and Leeds striker

A weak spot, but a spot none the less.
You are on a roll.

@Bandage. Youā€™re getting on my nerves now with this recent folly.
Iā€™ll have to ban you from the thread if youā€™re not careful.

Bualadh bos. Good post. This is the type of posting we expect from you kid, not sometimes, all the time. This is the standard we need. Keep this up please.

You tell him kid

Who? Sam Smyth . Broadcaster, journalist and political commentator.
Where ? Chophouse restaurant beggars bush Dublin 4
When? 2.35pm today

Sam had a late lunch with a somewhat portly accquaintence. While they skipped desert they carried in with a bottle of wine. I suspect a pino Grigio but I could not be certain.
Sam and said gent were in high spirits. The Italy Sweden game was underway but they didnā€™t give a fiddlers.

I was present in said restaurant but my initial paparazzi attempt on behalf of forumities failed due to a technical issue (phone cover obscured the shot). As I left the restaurant I pivoted casually and snapped the below beauty which clearly shows Smyth justiculating with his arm raised. Although this partially obscures his face, his trademark glasses are clearly visible.

Put up his real name, present it in the correct format and Iā€™ll begin to consider it then.

Yours in maintaining high standards.
Brimmer.

Whilst Sam is likely to only be recognizable to mass goers in significant urban areas and by those in the ABC1 demographic I think we have to give it. Lovely presentstion in your spot and the sneaky photo gets additional kudos.

Well done. Thatā€™s a spot

Thatā€™s a spot all day every day.

Were you introduced to him by your mutual friend? That would have been a very nice point to add to your report (firm handshake etc). Just some constructive feedback for next time mate but well done.
