The poll was run by one of the top contributors here over the past few months. It was also run on the poll coding developed by @Rocko, and I’m sure anyone taking issue with it had best raise it with the mods. A word of caution: their patience appears to be threadbare at present, no doubt as a result of the ill-treatment of another newbie poster, @Smark. Dreadful carry on really.

It wasn’t in a stand alone thread but you never mentioned a stand alone thread in any of your posts, buddy. You’ve only said that polls take place on the main board and given this poll was in a thread on the main board then it did in fact take place on the main board.

I dont even recall the person who ran the poll, I just remember it being some newbie fella. I found it amusing at the time given how the ol switcheroo was carried out, I just didn’t realise people took it seriously.

Like it or not @Smark is the adjudicator. You can’t just have a new poll for the role. There has to be a vote of no confidence in @Smark and if over 50% of the board want a change then you have to open it up to new candidates and the incumbent to put forward their manifesto and then an election takes place.

If the board gives Smark a vote of confidence then he should be given a 3 year term with no review, just like Davy Fitz to get on with it and really make the role his own

There was a very late swing to Smark, the poll closed suddenly early and Smark only had 46% of the vote. Disgraceful carry on. You wouldn’t get it in Florida.

In order for there to be another poll, those seeking one will need to get a minimum number of signatures, otherwise the place could be clogged with polls and our democracy be threatened. How many users are online here daily? I suggest if a poll gets 20 supporters it can then be put it the people
