Dressed in a green expensive looking jumper and Chino type pants, John looked relaxed but with gravitas.
I chatted to him about nothing in particular as he was sitting in the lobby of my workplace. I knew I recognised him from somewhere.
I thought to myself, after a while that is the spitting image of John Simpson. A colleague then came to greet him warmly and then asked if I had met John Simpson, and introduced us.
A confession is that I thought at first it was inspector Morse, but of course he’s late.
He was absolutely charming, but came across as a serious and shrude oparator.
Edit he was wearing some kind of docksider type shoe.
