The Championship thread

Congratulations to Brendan Rodgers. A thoroughly good guy and an Irish manager testing himself at the highest level of English football next season is a positive.

Commiserations to Reading, especially their Irish contingent. A shame there had to be a loser in the richest game in world football.

Didn’t realise Rodgers’ son plays for our U-17s.
I know McDermott’s parents were Irish, did he ever play for us at any level?

Calamity for bottom of the table Sunderland.

They were 1-0 up after 86 minutes at home to second from bottom Burton Albion.

But Darren Bent equalised from a corner and then former Cliftonville legend Liam Boyce nodded the winner from a corner after 92 minutes.

Sunderland are going down again.

Lovely stuff

Update: Sunderland are officially relegated - as Burton Albion still have to play Bolton meaning one of those teams will reach 41 points, which Sunderland cannot reach.

I’ll just throw this in here too for the craic.
