The Chelsea supporters thread

This cant be good for our title hopes.

Sad day for English football when its player is off to China

Great stuff, I can soon ram @ChocolateMiceā€™s resources and net spending excuses right down his throat.

Bravado mate

Youā€™d have to question Conteā€™s handling of Costa just as you were with Klopp and Sturridge a few weeks ago if this turns out to be true

Why?

Conte has got the best out of Costa.

Klopp hasnā€™t of Sturridge.

Itā€™s no good getting the best out of him if he fucks off halfway through the season

For a world record transfer fee?

Where does it mention that?

He wonā€™t leave Chelsea in this window unless itā€™s a world record transfer fee. You can guarantee that.

In other Chelsea news today

Chelsea have spent a total of Ā£31.4m on getting rid of Jose Mourinho and his staff since 2007.

ā€˜The Special Oneā€™ and co were paid Ā£8.3m when he was sacked in December 2015, compared to the Ā£23.1m he and his staff received in 2007.

Chelseaā€™s accounts for the 2015-16 season reveal that despite a record turnover of Ā£329.1m and a Ā£49m profit on player trading, the fallen Premier League champions still managed to post a Ā£70.6m loss.

Among the other details revealed in Chelseaā€™s accounts are that owner Roman Abramovich continues to pour money into the club, about Ā£90m over the last two years as well as Ā£1m a season for his luxury box.

Chelsea also added 104 new staff, taking the total employed to 785, although the wage bill remained relatively flat at Ā£222m.

And there were some large payments that came just after the June 30 cut-off for this accounting period, including an initial Ā£96.3m investment in Marcos Alonso, Michy Batshuayi, Nā€™Golo Kante and David Luiz.

But perhaps the most notable expense not included in this set of accounts is the Ā£5m settlement reached with former first-team doctor Eva Carneiro, who dropped her claim of constructive dismissal against the club and sex discrimination against Mourinho on June 7.

Carneiro left the club after she was publicly criticised and verbally abused by Mourinho for treating Eden Hazard on the pitch, against Mourinhoā€™s wishes, in a game at Stamford Bridge against Swansea in August 2015.

So heā€™s leaving his best player out of the squad for no reason then?

Didnā€™t you read? The player reckons he is injured and canā€™t play. Conte and staff disagree but heā€™s been left out, canā€™t force a guy to play who wonā€™t play.

I donā€™t follow football Geoff but it looks like they have just bought their success havery they?

So its the same issue Klopp had with Sturridge then?

While it doesnā€™t look good for Chelsea to lose a star player mid season, theyā€™d be Batshuayi crazy not to take world record money for the likes of Costa.

No itā€™s not, Conte has got Costa to be the top scorer in the league and a vital player.

Klopp has Sturridge as a periphery player warming the bench.

The are completely opposite situations, bizarre how you can see it as a similarity.

Costa is a much better player than Sturridge. Conte clearly isnā€™t managing Costa correctly if Costa is refusing to play/dropped

I think heā€™s managing him correctly if he has got him to be the top scorer in the league and one of the best players in the league.
