So why isnāt he playing tomorrow if heās being managed correctly?
Didnāt you read?
Costa claims he is injured.
Like Sturridge claimed he was injured which you were criticising Klopp for?
Nope.
I criticised Klopp because heās not getting the best out of Sturridge - not because he canāt get him to declare himself fit for matches.
Sturridge has been involved in 19 of Liverpoolās 26 matchday squads this season but he has been a peripheral player.
Mourinho was able to manage him correctly for a full season just two seasons ago when he scored 20 league goals in a Chelsea title winning season.
Looks like the trip to White Hart Lane broke him. Writing was on the wall when he was fighting with his own teammate Pedro as Spurs gave Chelsea the runaround.
It sounds very similar alright. Wasnāt that a major issue between Klopp and Sturridge?
Anyway with Costa this will be a storm in a teacup, heāll be back with a smile on his face next week. Iād say heās an alright sort off the pitch, mad as a bag of spanners.
Sturridge has been involved in 19 of Liverpoolās 26 matchday squads this season.
Whatās this then? Are you not criticising Klopp here?
It must be an awful pain in the hole repeating yourself across a few threads.
Isnāt it widely suspected that part of the reason that Klopp doesnāt get on with/ trust/ rate Sturridge is because he felt that he was exaggerating an injury and was unwilling to put his body on the line.
Heād likely have played more often if their relationship was stronger?
You said injured most of the time, heās been involved in 19 of the 26 Liverpool matchday squads .
Costa has been involved in 22 of the 24 Chelsea matchday squads this season.
According to what Iām reading heās missed 6 games through injury this season and 17 last season. You canāt build a team around a player like that
Sturridge at the start of this season was a guy who scored 43 goals in 69 league games for Liverpool.
Costa at the start of the season was a guy who scored 32 goals in 52 league games for Chelsea.
Conte has got Costa to be the top scorer in the league this season and one of the best players, heās been involved in 19 of the 20 matchday squads.
Sturridge has been a peripheral figure this season for Liverpool, scoring only one goal in 11 appearances, heās been involved in 15 of the 20 matchday squads.
Clearly Conte is getting the most from Costa, Klopp is not getting the most from Sturridge.
So why did Conte build a team around a player who missed 10 games last season and 12 the season before that?
Youād want to start getting some consistency here.
The stats Iām looking at here http://www.transfermarkt.com/diego-costa/verletzungen/spieler/44779 show that Costa only missed 3 games last season through injury, 11 the year before and very few in the years preceding that. Sturridge has consistently been injured for good chunks of most seasons heās played
Why do injuries differ from suspensions?
Youāre every bit as unavailable to suspension as you are to injury.
Because discipline can be improved much more easily than constant injury troubles obviously
But Klopp suggested Sturridge wasnāt even injured?
The same as Conte is now?
Costa is top scorer in the league and has arguably been the player of the season.
Sturridge has been a peripheral player for Liverpool.
Now tell me, who is getting the most out of their player?
Who is Costaās agent?
