The Cheltenham Festival 2014

thoughts on Quevega? I thought she barely got home last year, has met with a setback this year, there could be very good value here, and take one thing for sure and certain, if Annie Power shows up here she wins, I have a sneaky suspicion all is not well re Quevega

It’s difficult for me to comprehend how she hasn’t been challenged for 4. 5 is a step too far

I am going to put up my EW bet of the week now…
Mendip Express, Harry Fry in the 4m, there seems to be a huge gamble on JP/Jonjo dursey sound but its unseated 2 of last 3 and this is an amateur race, selection has same jockey last 3 wins and looks really good value @ 14s…also need to see where shutftondoor ends up

Doesn’t run KC.

which one, mendip express?

BTW, she is going for 6!

Here are my thoughts fwiw

Supreme - Sgt Reckless
Arkle - Rock On Ruby
Champion Hurdle - Hurricane Fly
Mares - Quevega
Neptune - Faugheen
RSA - Ballycasey
Champion Chase - Baily Green
Bumper - Shaneshill
JLT - Vukovar
World Hurdle - Annie Power
Triumph - Calipto
Gold Cup - Captain Chris
Foxhunter - On The Fringe

Bet of the festival - On The Fringe
Lay of the festival - Our Conor
Ew of the festival - Ted Veale in the Arkle

Yep

is that well known? shite…been tracking that…what are your own thoughts? the CH is wrecking my head, the potential gnd condition is making me doubt TNO for Our Conor

I don’t have my list yet, but I would be shocked if RoR has the scope to win an arkle.
Baily Green I would agree, but he needs good ground
I think Faugheen is a complete hype horse…small fields, slow jumper

Yeah he ruled him out yesterday I think Scottish National is the aim.

CH is interesting will Un De Sceaux run? Cannot have Our Connor at all. He cruised upsides the Fly at Leopardstown and was still beaten 1 1/2 lengths on the run in, imagine if that was the Cheltenham hill! He’ll cruise into it but won’t pick up. You just have to back Hurricane Fly I suppose and scream the legend home.

Ground is crucial for Baily Green alright. You could be right about Faugheen, might revise my stance on him. RoR just loves the festival and it’s a shite Arkle.

yeah, the only time I backed HF was the time he got beat, there is no way you can get off him if you’ve won on him before…your probably right…I hear UDS wont run

You’ve got 3 of the 4 Championship Races bang on there

I cant back our conor either…dessie keeps saying he was a stone better come che last year, but I cant see him improving as much this time. I was really keen on TNO if we got decent gnd, I will still back it as I think its the only animal with a clear case to beat HF…

Which one wrong Laz, Captain Chris? Knew he was a doubt alright KC but thought the owner wanted him in?

I am backing rule the world in the WH, and that’s because of a conversation I had with the mouse himself last jan…he’ll give a right good run

Mouse is some man! Any handicap fancies?

I think he is going for the county not the supreme?

Hurricane Fly:p

Nah, being serious I fancy Captain Chris myself, certainly think he’s the value in the race. Don’t believe Bailey Green is up to winning a Queen Mother. SDG will be very hard bet I reckon
