Does that reflect todays massive reduction

What was the % reduction today?

Edit Its 2.14 up from 1.40. Welcome development.

He’s doing up the toilets this week. They are a disgrace to be fair.

I remember when 10 Benson was a pound

You’re only a young fella
You could get a loose fag a match and a scratch for 8p

Inflation has many parents.

Clothing and footwear has reduced significantly from the 80s and 90s. Don’t mind the quality argument, most of it was poor then.

Motoring and transport is not much changed, relatively, before you even look at air travel.

Monthly mortgage cost is rquite similar to the mid 80s-late 90s. The problem is increased deposits to get started.Standard furnishing is not much different (but who wants that?).
Rental cost is up…4 of us rented a good 4 bed house in Limerick for 400 pounds a month through the early 90s.

You were mugged off. Seanie Browne would sell you the same for thruppence.

I’ll never forget the outcry when a package of Taytos went from 2 to 2 1/2p

Mortgage cost similar? Surely not

I can’t talk for Dublin.

Mortgage was 10£ per thousand per month on 20 years loan for about a decade. It jumped by 30-50% in 1992/93 thanks to JP and friends going south of the border.

A new 3bed semi was £50-60k in Limerick at the time.

The first tiger rush took that to £70-75k by 1998 and over £100k a few years later. Dotcom and 911 stalled it for a year or two until madness took hold.
