The Daddy Thread

I don’t have one of those pal.

Tell us about that gifted class you were in again there? For no reason at all

She’s put a lot of work into her rubik cube competition, you dismissed it as draughts and jenga. You haven’t a fucking notion. It was a cruel and unprovoked attack on a young girl’s efforts. The arrogance of it. Now some fanny who wets the bed and blames it on women is calling me a mess.

You can’t do a rubik cube but you launched into an arrogant and unprovoked attack on this little girl’s talent.

That’s triggered you something fierce so here ya go.

I said I could not solve one in 1980s when they were ubiquitous (everywhere) and I was regarded as a bright kid. It was self deprecating while at the same time an implied praise for this young lady.

The programme was a precursor for the CITY in DCU. Called Learning through Logo. I was selected from schools in and around Dublin. It was based on a test involving seeing patterns and solving puzzles in a test run in school. It was on Saturday mornings. It mainly involved using computers to send a plastic turtle around the floor. I didn’t really enjoy it.

I won my first athletics all Ireland medal a few years earlier.

That’s why I asked the question that sent us down the tfk rabbit hole

@Tank

I’ll accept your apology when you come down, you fucking junkie

You should be used to that in Cork by now.

Big changes in the genrerations- my mam said she was near 16 before she found out( 1940s and living in rural Kerry)
12 kids in the family but obviously older ones kept quiet

She’s just gone out the door with her mammy now, looking forward to it.
If she never picks it up again after today at least we feel it’ll have been worth it for her.

How did it start, she just picked it up and her pig headedness wouldn’t leave her let it unsolved, so she solved it using the ‘algorithm/method’

Then she saw Speed Cubers on Netflix, a couple of her friends took it up, her mam started, I even did it once, but she kept getting quicker.
It’s a lovely party trick, people of our generation love to see it being done, they were a big deal for us in the 80s as a toy, remember taking off the stickers and solving it that way.
Her PB is a shade under 30 seconds, she’s done that quite often, though 40 seconds is more likely.

Send her up there to walk all over the cunts… Don’t mind this taking part lark.

Between @bandage’s half yesterday and this, it could be some weekend for team TFK

Best of luck :+1:

She’s having a great day, apparently they’re a lovely crowd and they get to judge on other players turns, so she’s cock o the hoop,
She performed to her usual standard, around the 40 second average I believe which put her at 35 of 60 competitors.
The blindfolded competition is ongoing

The rubix cube crowd are generally a sound bunch. Don’t get near the funding they deserve.

True for ya, they probably should have taken PaddyPowers millions that time but the ad campaign portraying them as poindexters didn’t sit well

Brilliant stuff. Didn’t know of such competitions but great to hear about it.
