What’s the criteria for entry in the UK? Is it not transparent?

And big congratulations @Declan_Moffat

Wouldn’t it do wonders for the lad to go away from home for a few years to a nice university?

Well done @Declan_Moffat

Congrats @Declan_Moffat

For all the issues with the LC and entry system in Ireland, it seems a bit more straightforward than the UK.

Congrats

Congratulations on young Patrick!

Congratulations

This is life my friend. We all had to move off away and strike out on our own. It may even crown the chap. Parenting is tough to let go of but you’re a great aul dad and you’ve raised him well. He’ll be grand.

Economics I think. Something along those lines. Herself went to Nottingham. It’s a lovely city I think, but at this stage I’d prefer Ireland or Glasgow. He’s put Nottingham as first choice I think.

It’s meant to be nice alright. Uni of Nottingham is a nice campus . Trent is newer and out at bit from town.

He’s keen to go. He says he had no intention of staying in Manchester, but I figured I’d lean (heavily) on him to stay if he doesn’t get Ireland.
Now that’s no longer an option. He’s not bothered, beyond saying that even though he didn’t want to go to Manchester, when you don’t get offered something, you kind of then want it.
I thought I’d be able to persuade him to stay. I’m pretty sure I would have been able…
Whatever happens now, he’s going to be gone in September. That’s 5 months :slightly_frowning_face::slightly_frowning_face::slightly_frowning_face:

This better be greeting and not crying, you big pussy.

When the first lad was born during Covid, I managed to get a pint alone the next day. Just to reflect on things and take it in.

I normally only have Guinness from 3 places in Birmingham but made an exception for the day that’s in it and have got one in the local. One pint alone to reflect and toast the occasion.

Good health men, I don’t know how we do it. (We don’t, it’s all the women. @Fat_Pox messaged with a great comparison)

Congratulations to all the Moffats on this great news. Great times ahead with 2 chaps.
You’ll be aptly regarded as Domestic Majority Leader Declan.

I’m expecting young Moffat to be a future President of the Association in 2070’s.

I’ve been seemingly reliably informed that Guinness comes to the mainland from Dublin as some kind of gloop. It all goes to Wigan where it is diluted/reconstituted and lorried out across the country. It’s no wonder it’s not that great anywhere.
Not sure if anyone can confirm, but that’s what I was told.

I dont see how that would be possible. Maybe they send tans the syrup, which is diluted and then fermented…that wouldn’t be much different to how its made in Ireland
