The Death of the GGA

I’d say it took him about 3 or 4 minutes.

Fair cop.

Can we broaden that to the upcoming Revenue Commission investigation into GGA club’s tax affairs too?

@mikehunt has Tim Nice but Dim rattled within an inch of his life

yes we can

The GAA is indigenous to Ireland for a variety of reasons, some of which have been pointed out. You want to steer the debate towards the GAA’s failure at an international level. I don’t think anyone here is trying to debate that point. Continue to flap wildly towards that direction if you prefer.

My point is the incompetence of the IRFU. I am not holding up the GAA as a bastion of competence, far from it. All I’m doing is highlighting the performance of the IRFU and their notions of grandiosity. You continue the west brit hobby of aiming chocolate wristed jabs at the GAA and I’ll continue to laugh at Irish rugby’s uncanny ability to self-implode and blame everyone but themselves.

Lame attempt there to create a Jockstrap McHaggishead type character.

@Tim_Riggins must be on to his back up inhaler at this stage. Typing out paragraphs comparing the GAA to women’s rugby. You could not make it up.

The IRFU failed “Rugby World” Cup bid which relied on the largesse of the local GAA has left him seething.

You’ve caught me bang to rights there.

It was you brought Rugby into it. Your all over the fucking shop

You’re.

You know the rugby lads are under pressure when their rote learned private education comes apart at the seams.

You’re the chap who brought rugby football into this.

You mentioned an international sporting event.

Expect a comparison to be made in that case. The GGA despite their best efforts have utterly failed abroad. The IRFU have absolutely nothing to learn from them on hosting an international event, or anything international for that matter.

My initial post was aimed at Tim. It was either rugby or cricket. I shall the choose the other commonwealth game the next time if you prefer?

Bit like you and John Hanbury really.

Im not sure it has ever been a priority for the GAA to expand abroad. There is a broad policy of supporting the games within the confines of the diaspora but it doesn’t go much beyond that. The international rules is ultimately about having some class of an international outlet for the players, while the Fenway classic is an exhibition game for the diaspora.

Comparing an amateur sports organization from an island with 4million people to the NFL is risible by the way.

Yes I did. I mentioned that a rural Irish pursuit like camogie attracted more patrons than a Rugby World Cup final and you don’t seem to like it one bit. Is it because like all self loathing west brits you hate the fact the GAA is more popular than rugby in Ireland?
