The Death of the GGA

I didnā€™t include mcinerney in my above list of the now overused term stickmen for this reason, so thanks for the tacit agreement . Id disagree about whelan, you are comparing him to two of the best, am stickmen, in the country there. Whelan is far more of a, god help us, stickman, than most imo.

Kev said galway have big lads that can hurl. Well they won the ireland, so they can hurl alright, but i dont think the mannions, david burke, coen and more can be correctly categorized as so.

As for kevs psycho babble about cultural nuances, which he refused to explain lest it open him to more ridicule, people can make uo their own minds

@mickee321 I find with the kids in recent years is that they are mad into soccer between 8-14 but then tend to lean towards GAA more and more after that.

Every town & club is different and there is a multitude of local issues at play but as far as I can see Junior soccer is fucked in the Desmond league. The league always produced good players, but as only a handful of clubs take it seriously and geographically they are all pretty close, the best players just gravitate to them while the other clubs plug away with whoever bothers to turn up on a Sunday morning.

So much aggression.

I was like you once but a combination of a steady loving relationship, some meditation and even a little counselling has given me a whole new outlook on life. Youā€™re clearly hurting and taking your frustration out here. Thatā€™s fine and better here than in a destructive fashion but maybe itā€™s time for some introspection? Shagging young ones is great for a yarn, but iā€™d wager you have very low self esteem and hopping around from young one to young one is because deep down you truly dont think you deserve to be loved? I think you are a decent guy that means well but you are not where you want to be in life at 40 and youā€™ve a lot of resentment. I wish you well dealing with all this and look forward to seeing you on the other side.

I know that, bit it was quite shocking

Youth Football in Ireland is at an all time high

we are now turning the screw on the GGA

What are you talking about here? So what environment exists in tipp that doesnā€™t in galway, that has them producing stickmen and us big lads (regardless of actual height) who can hurl in comparison

Yes. Exactly that

Okay, mate.

I tried my best to make this work for everybody.

No brendan maher? All serious wristy hurlers, but id rate our three as better

What kev, can you explain what youā€™re on about

By what metric?

Iā€™M way ahead of you there fella. Years and years. I do all aforementioned things and more.

I have an edge and I embrace it. I curse. Itā€™s who it am.

Iā€™M alot healthier for being who I truly am and not trying to be someone out if a book.

You have to live yourself to be lived.

And I clearly love myself. As is mentioned here time and yime again

Iā€™ve no doubt you would. But they are apples and oranges. Bubbles especially. Quickest hands I have ever seen and the best Iā€™ve ever seen to get a shot away in a tight situation.

So heā€™s actually more of a wristy hurler than a stickman :open_mouth:

Ah stop nowā€¦ youā€™re over reacting yourself. Iā€™m loathe to say it but the Tipp lads mentioned are out on their own and itā€™s not a slight towards Galway.

Thats an opinion, and they are top class. Im still waiting to here the professors explanation on the cultural differences though

Soccer GAA and Rugby arent really competing with each other anymore. They are all competing with laziness, snapchat, x box, Minecraft etc

Galway tend to overpower teams, but donā€™t really have the skill set to engineer goals. They get masses of possession, hence the huge points totals but donā€™t really have the craft that Tipp have to open teams up.
