On the topic of having a few drinks

Scarlets beat Bath tonight in european cup. Pkaying Toulon next weekend. Will they have a few? Oh they will ya

As an aside. MOTM was an Irish 2nd row tadgh beirne who is signed for Munster next season. He was phenomenal. Best player on pitch by a country mile. He scored this tru with a dainty sidestep for a big man

TSG I didn’t realise the GGA were also in receipt of unfair State Aid back then.

The state has been backing them from day 1

There’s a great book there for an aspiring journalist. Probably wouldn’t get a publisher in Ireland though such is their stragglehold on public discourse.

From reading, what is interesting is that the GGA tried this same thing in 1916 through the Irish Parliamentary Party. When that was refused by the British, they simply wouldn’t pay the tax. They could do this and wrap themselves up in the flag as some kind of conscientious objectors, but the reality is they were tax dodgers and this was shown years later. Not too dissimilar with the naming of Hill 16 years later and the myth they propagated about ruins from the Rising, they would do absolutely anything to get ahead.

Hopefully most of the money goes to Dublin GAA specifically.

It’s only fair

That’s some mugging off for the Catholic Church and they owing the state a small fortune for redress

The whole thing seems very dodgy

How have they it up for sale and they haven’t even bought it yet?
Why don’t the church pull out knowing they are being mugged off massively?

It was reported at the time the GAA were getting a “sweetheart deal”. Why I’m not sure.

The clue is in the name “Croke” Park.

You couldn’t be up to those Croagh bastards

This looks like the last gasp of the dying embers of old Ireland. The GGA and Catholic Church who once ruled Ireland with an iron fist doing one last sweetheart deal and screwing over tax payers and victims of abuse.

What is the Irish Press and Fianna Fáil’s involvement in all of this?
