What part of Warwickshire are they based out of, Puke?

They pull players from Manchester and Liverpool but play in the Warks championship and for the county side as Warks is the only other county board in the UK that runs a hurling championship aside from London

Thanks Puke.

Any time, pal

A mate of mine, and this is not me, has asked what the GAA clubs in Manchester are like? Football clubs. Any help appreciated, he will see this.

Manusboyle is involved with a club up there, he might be best to answer

You have St Peters, St Brendans, Oisins, St Lawrences, St Kentigerns (club of the Gallagher brothers) off the top of my head. Lot of ulster and lads from Mayo playing with the Manchester clubs. Rough enough when I was there, don’t know what it’s like now.

The Lancashire clubs are quite good at the moment and improving all the time.

Lancashire have won the All-Britain county championship for the last two years defeating London in the final and St.Peters and John Mitchels (Liverpool) have dominated the British club competition in recent years.

As Mullach Ide said players are mainly drawn from Ulster and Mayo with a smattering of players from other counties.

All in all Lancashire clubs would be on a par with London which is not bad considering the massive difference in player numbers.

You must be some age Mullach Ide,St.Kentigerns haven’t fielded a team for 15 years or so !

What mobile phone providers are you with and could you recommend any that have the best rates/deals for ringing Ireland? I would ring people in Ireland often and rarely use the phone for ringing people in UK. I am currently with 3 pay as you go but will be buying a new phone in January and am thinking of moving companies if it is worth my while.

Have you a credit history in the UK? if not you will struggle to get a bill phone. I am on Vodafone but it is a company phone so don’t have a bill

By the by, Dunph. Did you look into that club that I mentioned to you on Sametime/IM?

What do you mean? Give me an example.

No. I am officially RETIRED.

How long are you in the UK, it takes around 6 months to build up a credit rating you get this by paying utility bills, sky, broadband etc on time. If you don’t have a credit rating or a poor one they won’t give you a contract. You will also need a debit card

If you go on a month to month sim only plan, after about 3/4 months they’ll give a contract and upgrade.

Dunph pal I have a vodafone pay as you go smart phone which I use solely for calling international. Basically you top up by thirty quid a month and they give you 240 minutes to any irish or international number. I then use the 30 quid top up on internet browsing which costs 1 pound a day for limited usage.

Limited usage?

Would like to have internet access alright.

@chewylouie I am here just over 6months so would you suggest a bill phone, pal?

Limited as in, you can browse sites such as tfk all day, but watching videos etc will push you over the daily allowance and charge you extra.

Dunph, O2 do an international call package which works Out cheap but you have to buy it as an add on. I see t mobile are doing an iPhone 4s with all you can eat data and 4000 mins for abot 26 a month iirc. If I understand it right you are after moving over. if you are up in the Manchester direction and there is anything I can do for you at all, drop me a pm.
