The Eamon Dunphy Thread

An absolute national treasure. Saw him last summer, thought he looked fierce shook.

It would have been some laugh if El Tel and El Del had been there together at the FAI

Venables played football not the dirge Trapatoni served up but trap spoke with a fancy accent, charmed the journalists so everything was ok. The most depressing few years in all my time following Ireland and there has been a few.

The absolute dirge venables served up at Leeds certainly wasn’t football. He was a busted flush years before 2007.

You are quiet happy with the dirge Mick serves up. Even Warnock complained about the amount of kick and rush Mick’s team served up last Saturday.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and our performances at home to Georgia, Denmark and Switzerland were not dirge but you have shown yourself to lack any critical thinking skills and constantly peddle mistruths on here.

You keep forgetting Gibraltar home and away, Georgia away, Switzerland away. Selective memory.

El Tel would have came in and like Mr Trappatoni , MON & Mick seen the squad available was bang average and cut his cloth accordingly .

Inherited a fine team who were consistent top 6 didn’t he? I know they were losing players during that spell but they still had the likes of Viduka, Kewell, Smith etc during the 2002-2003 season. He nearly relegated them but Peter Reid saved the day wasn’t it?

Why would anyone care about how we play against Gibraltar- we got six points from the two games. Whether we play outstanding football against them doesn’t matter a jot in the grand scheme of things. The performance away to Georgia was of no real different to any other performance which Ireland have given in Tibilisi but yet you think this is unacceptable for some reason

He played the likes of Paul Okan centre midfield continually, he was the most ineffective midfielder I ever saw play and left the likes of Batty and Dacourt rot in the reserves. Leeds would routinely take the lead in the first half of a match and as soon as they did he would try and park the bus and invariable would lose. They were a rabble under him.

@mac and the other Leeds fans will verify how shit he was.

First ever draw in Tiblisi. Mick was stealing 1.2 million a year.

Yet more mistruths. We drew 1-1 there in the previous campaign. Why are you spoofing so much?

Beat them 2-1, mcgeady double.

That was 2014. We drew 1-1 in 2017.

Drew 1-1 in 2017

No, that was 2014. In 2017 we drew 1-1 despite an early Shane Duffy goal we struggled throughout. We have never won by more than a goal in Tibilisi and never played particularly well there in any of our qualifiers there.

I remember Duffy header. Another dinosaur manager in Martin O’Neill. Never drew there with a proper manager.

Didn’t we beat them once with a let Doc goal after Kilbane was almost impaled with a knife.
