Tbf my smallie hasnāt many issues travelling to and from matches in Dublin or Limerick
He stops and hasnāt had to wait anywhere so far
Course heās laid back and does his photo editing from what ever motorway service station and has a coffee and sambo
His Peugeot hasnāt got a huge range ,
But yes obviously diesel / petrol car filling up is way more convenient,
Suppose like me when I first got a hybrid I had to adjust my driving style:/( fuckin lunatic at times )
Same has to apply ref EV cars

Try Zu Car in Cork.
My last yoke I was only getting 2k on trade ins. They gave me 3k to buy it off me (no trade in) in Drogheda and then I put that towards a car in Dublin

Any advice ref home charging?
Is it worth buying the e500 wall one from screwffix etc
Or is it feasible to charge mostly at home?
I donāt intend to drive too many long journeys
My relation is a spark and Iād get him to connect a wall charger etc

I paid 1100 or 1200 and got 300 back. I only ever charge at home, and at night, which would be 2-3 times a week depending on how many times Iāve to get to Dublin. Have only used a public charger once when I made a mess of the charging overnight. Paying for public chargers is rightly the same price as what diesel was before the recent price surge.
If youāve spent a decent chunk on a car I wouldnāt scrimp on the charger for fear it makes a fuck of things. An extra few hundred quid getting it done properly could save you a fair bit more then that in the future.

Would you think it feasible to charge via 3 pin for a few weeks?
45/55 km daily
Coffers are low for a month or so
My kid pays esb e5 a month for a reduced price at the charging points
But he does serious miles weekly
Cork Limerick a few times weekly
You can pick up a 3 pin granny charger for ā¬220 approx in screwfix which will tide you over for a few weeks. Ultimately though you need to get a home charger installed, the price of electricity is likely to rise fairly sharp if the situation in Iran isnāt sorted soon and you will get screwed using the public chargers. The trick is getting onto a tariff with a cheap overnight rate that you use as a charging window, could be ā¬1500 of an investment but will pay for itself before too long.
