edit, the new leaf looks great
Whoâs going to generate all the extra electricity needed for the electric cars?
Diesel fueled power stations
Whoâs going to sort out the issue with battery life?
The Duracell bunny.
Cork - Dublin motorway is served very well with fast chargers.
If you were going to stop anyway for food or to break up the journey.
Naas - Beside Tesco in Monread. Costa, Subway. Beside McDonalds.
Portlaoise - Midway. OâBriens, Subway, Chipper.
Ballacolla - Motorway Exit Stop. Shop + Deli, Supermacs
Urlingford - At the back of a Centra I think.
Cashel - Motorway Exit Stop. Shop + Deli, McDonalds
Fermoy. Canât remember this one. Not sure Iâve been there.
Heâs at nothing if he has to stop both ways to charge.
In a older Leaf maybe. In an Ionic, you could stop for 20 mins and boost by 100km range and have a coffee or sandwich and be on the road again.
And newer models coming out soon will have a 250km, 300km, 350km range.
I looked at the Golf just there. Says 196km range with no fast charge option. Iâve no problem factoring in a stop in Cashel or Ballacolla as Iâd stop for a coffee at any rate on my weekly trips up to the capital
One issue is that the public chargers are likely to be sold. Which means theyâll likely no longer be free in the near future.
Oxford starting banning all petrol and diesel in 2020
:-0
medium term that wont be an issue mate, between ranges and motorways that charge the cars
2020 doesnât leave much time for reaction, but itâs a bold and quite correct move.
Iâd start by banning diesel on everything personally, and take it from there quite quickly.
yep, diesel is disgusting
Filthy stuff. Farmers and others who donât care for the environment love it.
Come back to me when theyâve an electric tractor that can agitate a 25000 gallon tank of slurry mate.
deary me
why build something for an industry that will be around for 5 more years tops?
