Same as ICE

After six years you need to change all the batteries, costing 6-10k. They’ll blow up otherwise and kill you and all your family.

At least you’ll get 20 miles of sweet, sweet driving out of them

I heard that interview. A very soft approach taken, no hard questions or data.

Electric vehicles – trouble ahead?

Sir, – We have been driving a Nissan Leaf for the past seven years and have travelled a total distance of 155,000km.

Over those years, myself and my wife have become EV champions.

Nissan just quoted me for a replacement battery: €19,000, plus VAT, excluding labour!

We are now reconsidering our position as EV champions! – Yours, etc,

JOHN RUSSELL,

Sallins,

Co Kildare.

No he doesn’t. If he did post here he’d have known the list of TFK solutions for the problem:

Contact (insert posters name) with a view to having the vehicle stolen.
Contact (see above) with a view to staging an accident.
Set fire to the bloody yoke altogether.
Attend a protest march somewhere and encourage crustys to vandalise the shit out of it……

There’s endless options when you drill down a little.

Did you not consider shoving his thumb up his hole?

Thats some lies right there, or else they are being sold a pup. Its fairly well known that a replacement leaf battery would be at most €5k all in for the whole job, which would most likely also include an upgraded battery to give more range. Plus there is a 8 year 160km warranty, so that doesnt make sense either, unless they bought it second hand. We need Ewan to ask questions here.
