The Farmer hates Oasis Smashing Tunes thread

Surely the tickets are under priced if they sell out?

Supply and demand?

Itā€™s a little bit mental that itā€™s allowed all piss taking aside. They basically advertise the standing tickets at 160 then when you get in to buy after waiting for hours they then say actually because thereā€™s only a few left and they were so popular we are now going to charge 440 for the same ticket. We all love a bit of capitalism but this seems a bit of an outlier canā€™t think of an equivalent. Has there been any move to ban it in other countries?

Their argument would be that itā€™s pretty much the same system that airlines and hotels use and it cuts down on touting.

I would say it doesnā€™t cut down on touting, that Ticketmaster are the touts.

And the band, to be fair. Oasis always marketed themselves as the band of the people. Noel is just a grumpy, reactionary divorced dad now.

It was 25 quid for a ticket for Pairc Ui Chaoimh in 1996 and that felt like a lot of money at the time. Little did we know.

Ticketmaster and INTERNET price gouging for HOT EVENTS is one of the bad things about the INTERNET, though itā€™s far from the worst thing about it.

The remarkable thing about Pairc Ui Chaoimh was that I assumed I wouldnā€™t be going and walked into Zhivago records in Shop Street in Galway the Saturday before it to find there were tickets on sale. There were tickets on sale from a booth outside Pairc Ui Chaoimh. The concerts didnā€™t sell out.

Queueing overnight for tickets for a concert is a rite of passage that every young person should have to endure. Itā€™s all about the imagined hardship.

Great times.

Least not today.

Sound is tops although me man in bands says the technology is so good now that a shot voice can still be made sound like Pavarotti.

Liams sounded unreal at recent 3 arena gigs but is minding himself these days too

That wasnā€™t the case when the Stone Roses played the Phoenix Park.

True but Marley park (and technology) was better

I donā€™t really have much love for Oasis to be honest.

Once the hype dies down, any fella who failed to get a ticket yesterday will feel like heā€™s won the lotto

Loads of screaming on joe about pricesā€¦ Seems every one over ,50 calling in are telling young people to go shit in their hat.

As one caller pointed out, with liam and noel demanding 100m for the couple of weeks work then dynamic pricing was a given
