the likes of 50 somethings like @artfoley & @padjo spending the 2025 holiday money on seeing oasis is nuts
you could have seen Liam singing the exact same songs in St Annes 3 months ago for €45

Apology accepted
He didn’t play St Anne’s……ever
That’s twice in one week now.
How in the name of jeekers will that work?
This part of the statement cracked me up
“While prior meetings between promoters, Ticketmaster and the band’s management resulted in a positive ticket sale strategy, which would be a fair experience for fans, including dynamic ticketing to help keep general ticket prices down as well as reduce touting, the execution of the plan failed to meet expectations. All parties involved did their utmost to deliver the best possible fan experience, but due to the unprecedented demand this became impossible to achieve.”
They’re claiming that dynamic ticket pricing was aiming to keep the price down
Luckily they’re largely dealing with simpletons who’ll accept that word salad I suppose
But at least they can make it right by making another million or ten with more concerts
Id imagine TM could run a script across account holders to see who was in the queue, how long etc and can then drill down based on location and other identifying data of the account holder held by TM.
Like I don’t think there’s any issue with there being not enough tickets for demand - everyone knew it would be massively popular.
It’s the pricing, and more particularly the sneakiness of the pricing that was very very poor. Looking back despite the blizzard of press around the concerts the media were struggling to get pricing details from the band/promoters. They easily could have explained “dynamic pricing” in advance but they purposely fudged it and shied away from questions. It was well planned and it’s hilarious that both the band and Ticket master are trying to wash their hands of it now.
As Tommy Tiernan says - it’s wasn’t the fucking Mexicans
Apparently ticket companies and promoters sell “dynamic pricing” to artists as a means to reduce touting.
DETE put through legislation banning touring last year and hey ho ticketmaster pick up the slack with dynamic pricing. Ticketmaster needs to be broken up as it welds too much power
So that they can grab the touts profit for themselves
Who comes up with dynamic pricing ? an algorithm ?
They also charge fees on any resales and only way to resell is often TM
