If the gaa had any brains at all when it came to redeveloping their crumbling concrete jungles they would have redeveloped Thurles which is central to a lot more counties in a number of provinces.

Instead now they are faced into doing up both along with casement while the Gaelic grounds will be done at little cost to them.

While large green field sites become more valuable the gaa is going to have any number of 40k plus stadiums that will be filled once or twice a year at a maximum.

It’s insanity.

Munster Finals, National League Finals, the AI Quarter Finals most years, All Ireland U20/21 Finals, Minor Finals now… Munster Club/All Ireland Club games.

Its by far and away the second most important stadium in the country.

I won’t use Supervalu Park to try better Thurles as an overall argument. Having to drive through Roscrea or Nenagh is like teleporting back to the era of early-humans hitting each out with branches.

The town’s second biggest landmark is Lar’s pub that got caught watering down drinks ffs.
