I love the way Noonan wrote to them and asked them would they take a pay cut and they responded saying it would be imprudent  These fucks should be swinging from a gallows yet they’re still dictating their own enormous salaries and telling their supposed masters to fuck off. All these fucks would be out on their ear if these banks were allowed to collapse the way they should have.
More ‘Fianna Gael’ cronyism uncovered again this week…a new era for politics me bollix. Breathtaking two fingers to the country from these scumbags.
Ah that’s a bit harsh on scumbags now associating them with the Blueshirts.
Let’s see how this promissory note issue plays out too. Are they going to roll over and be tickled again after all their fighting talk?
Certainly looks that way. Talk that the deal the ECB is willing to accept will provide no debt relief and just extend the payment terms over a few more years instead of the 40 years the government were looking for.
If it’s extended over a long enough time that is a major help though, inflation could wipe a massive amount away.
They are talking a single digit extension which would make very little difference

hopefully the high court fucks enda and his ecb buddies over on the PNs
Ah jaysus.
Bondholders should have been burned from day one
Not a hope. Seperation of powers is fine in principle but courts always defer to governments when push comes to shove, especially in times of emergency.

i dunno, theres a bloody good argument to be had about them being vague delegation of powers and possibly ultra vires. and besides, that odious arrogant mcdowell is acting for the state and didnt even bother to file his opposition papers
Agreed on the fact that there’s a good argument but courts will always toe the line on big issues like this.
What’s a promissory note Runt?
Basically just an IOU, with defined payment terms.
It is amusing to see the self-styled ‘law and order’* party stand over the closure of hundreds of Garda stations and the continued mothballing of Templemore. What will FG stand for now if they can’t even stand by their single monotonous mantra?
*a proud tradition rooted in extra judicial killings, massacring of prisoners etc.
Cant we just go back to 1987 and start again… please?
Enda Kenny responding to a question by Sinn Fein during leaders questions on the Magdalene Laundries with an IRA reference…
What a fucking spoon.
A joke of a man.
Mattie is sticking it to him, I think, I can’t fully decipher what he is saying.
Kenny’s responses summarised…
-
to Michael Martin - harped on about how cheap this report was compared to FF ones
-
to Mary Lou McDonald - usual govt response about SF apologies
-
to Mattie McGrath - he corrected him on the number of pages in the report
