Dun Laoghaire was 3 seats last time, it’ll be 4 next time
I expect the Greens will comfortably have enough for one and Boyd Barrett probably will too meaning a dogfight between FG2 and Hanafin or another FFer for the last seat
Yeah - that could be the way it works out. I’d say the fourth seat could be a nail-biter and prob depends on where the green votes go as they’ll be transfer friendly. The fact that FG have 3 candidates might get them enough for 2 quotas but the second candidate would need to hang in that long. MMOC has been very poor - she should be getting a second candidate in when she might actually need help
Apologies - I read it as they had 10% not dropped. Yeah pretty close. I still think with near 30% of the vote as is likely they’ll get absolute minimum 1 seat.
That’s hugely impacted by losing the likes of Bailey, Madigan and Richmond to the Oireactas. John Bailey also lost vote share, I imagine his illness impacted some people’s willingness to vote for him locally.
Also FG has always been strong in DLR. They sufferered during the PD’s day’s but 2002 was a one off there really. Sean Barrett temporarily retired then which cost them. There will likely always be a seat for FG there.
still cant understand why helen dixon is sitting on her hands and not gone down the enforcement route here. the time for the department to come into compliance with her ruling has long expired.
not IIRC, DPC has to issue the formal determination for the purposes of enforcement before the govt can appeal it. the formal determination hasnt issued yet.
