Are you treating ‘A’ and his company as one entity?
Do you own a company?
Yes. We have to pay corporation tax. It’s not huge amounts but it hurts mentally and financially. I was angry the year it was more than Starbucks supposedly paid here.
Ok, while it may feel like you pay Corporation Tax, you don’t, your company does.
Fuck off you fucking twat. Small businesses are exactly that. Every cent in and out affects the basic pay of the owner(s). That’s just how it is.
By that logic the lads who FOT says pay VAT don’t. It may feel like it but it’s the business they buy from who pays it.
Irrelevant to the point being discussed. The tax you pay on the salary you take out of the company is personal taxation. Tax you pay on dividends the company pay you is personal taxation. Corporation Tax is not personal taxation. I imagine both Corporate and Tax law clearly distinguish between both entities, ie the company and the owner(s).
You’re actually this thick. Go study some tax and come back to us.
It’s you that’s being a bit dim here Tim. You’re getting a bit hot under the collar because FOT and some other institute correctly excluded Corporation Tax from a personal taxation discussion/comparison. You don’t like “like with like” comparisons do you? You prefer apple and orange comparisons which generate misleading stats.
You’re thick Mike.
That may be the case but you still haven’t addressed why Corporation Tax should be taken into account when discussing personal taxation comparisons. I understand why the Nevin institute would exclude it but it seems you think you know more than them, the same way you think you know more than Margrethe Vestager.
I have. Are you genuinely this thick. Posters above have also pointed this out but you seem to think that CT falls from the sky.
The Nevin Institue excluded over half the taxes collected that year including nearly half of VAT. Who pays those? The Nevin Institute and Fintan O’Toole could never answer that question why that was.
And let’s just point out that Mike contradicted his recent statements above.
Tim and his beloved OECD stats have been found out here, found out good and proper.
Individuals do not pay Corporation Tax you lummox.
Individuals may not pay corporation tax but may need to take a drop in pay to meet the bill. Their employees don’t suffer that risk
