The Franco Sensi AS Roma 2013/14 Season Thread

Roma: De Sanctis, Maicon, Burdisso, Castan, Balzaretti, De Rossi, Pjanic,Strootman, Florenzi, Borriello, Ljajic

Roma bench: Lobont, Skorupski, Torosidis, Jedvaj, Romagnoli, Dodò, Taddei,Marquinho, Bradley, Ricci, Caprari, Gervinho
Sassuolo: Pegolo; Antei, Bianco, Acerbi; Gazzola, Marrone, Magnanelli,Longhi; Berardi, Floro Flores, Missiroli

Sassuolo bench: Pomini, Rosati, Rossini, Ziegler, Schelotto, Kurtic, Chibsah,Laribi, Alexe, Masucci, Farias, Zaza

Longhi scores an own goal to put us in the lead after Florenzi’s initial effort was saved by Pegolo.

Borriello looks like he may have to come off here due to injury. Bradley to replace him.

Florenzi has picked up a yellow card and will miss our next match which is at home to Cagliari. It now looks possible that we may have no attackers for that game with Totti, Destro and Gervinho injured, Borriello going off injured and Floenzi suspended.

Delightful stuff from Pjanic there.

Ljajic denied by Pegolo after an outrageous volleyed pass from Florenzi.

Pegolo thwarts Ljajic again after a mazy run.

Sassuolo really should have levelled us but De Sanctis got us out of jail.

Berardi levels it in injury time.

Oh dear.

1-1 FT.

That’s a very disappointing result. We had enough chances at 1-0 to seal the game but we couldn’t take them and you just got the feeling Sassuolo were going to level. We didn’t play all that well. We’re badly missing Totti and Gervinho.

We’ve been linked with Dzeko whose contract is up in 2015 and there are hints that he won’t renew. I wouldn’t hold too much hope in this one to be honest, it would be an extraordinary signing if we could get him. Think Dzeko has been very much been destroyed at City, I think he’s one of the top strikers in the world but City haven’t give him the continuity and he has suffered as a result. I would expect him to end up at Dortmund next season as Lewandowski’s replacement - I would actually regard him as a better player than Lewandowski.

We would have more need for a wide player in January than a striker. Garcia seems to prefer Totti in the central role and we also have Destro to return from injury with Borriello very unlikely to leave until his contract expires at the end of next season.

It would definitely seem that we’re in the market for a left back and midfielder in the January window as there are a host of names been mentioned.

D’Ambrosio and Aogo are the latest names to be mentioned for the left back slot. Would really like D’Ambrosio even if he is not a natural left back, he should be available for a very reasonable fee as his contract expires at the end of the season and it doesn’t look like he’ll renew.

Kucka, Nocerino, Obiang and Parolo are the midfield names been linked. I would like Parolo the most our of them.

Burdisso and Marquinho look the most likely departures in January. I would expect us to replace Burdisso should he leave. I would also expect Caprari and one of Romagnoli or Jedvaj to go out on loan in January.

Whats the deal there? Why are wops waving our flag?

We’re close to signing young Serbian right back Petar Golubovic. It has yet to be determined whether he will join in January or next summer. He is 19 and a Serbian u21 international.

I would like to release the following official statement:

We categorically deny any such PMs were sent to forum member Chewy Louie regarding attractng him over to our side. The allegation is absolutely preposterous and is actually an imitation of the genuine claims @The Wild Colonial Bhoy made against Bandage a number of weeks ago. First of all they made up an illegitimate copycat thread, now they are posting false copycat allegations. They do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and their lust to claim our position as the top AS Roma thread on this forum is insatiable, sadly their motive is insincere, their DNA impure and their innovation non-existent. We attribute our place as the best Roma thread on this forum to the high moral standards and principles expected of our fraternity. Over there they accept any simpleton, Carryharry is indulged and anti-Italians and posters who have belittled Francesco Totti are now part of their twisted little group (Mullach Ide, Mark Renton and Sandymount Red).

Both Bandage and Puke are banned from this forum. Bandage is a traitor, a Judas. Puke was a Rossoneri before he turned his back on them, then he came to Roma before he turned his back on them, then he and Bandage wanted back in again. They will never be wanted in this thread. We would ask Puke to put up or shut up with regard to his allegations, the onus is on him to prove what he has just said and we know this will prove impossible.

In the meanwhile I am very proud to announce, (and to underline our vehement stance on anti-association with the illegitimate AS Roma thread, one that sullies our great captain’s name) that ANY member who has ever pledged allegiance to the illegitimate thread WILL NEVER be accepted in our thread.

Yours in SPQR,

Rudi.

Can you believe the cheek of cunt Chewy with his outrageous lies and allegations?**
Don’t worry, we (true Romanistas) will be vindicated in the fullness of time.

** I had no idea he had even made such allegations, because as a true Romanista I don’t read that “Vichy” thread.

@The Wild Colonial Bhoy came to me with a proposal earlier this week - divide the illegitimate thread. I saw merit in his plan and instructed him to begin initial talks. Puke was highlighted as the weak link, we knew he would be appeased and open to the idea.

Yesterday @The Wild Colonial Bhoy came to me and informed me of the success. Then came my part, to draw the rat out, which I did with ease and a sense of inevitability - the best part was that it was Puke who hung himself.

He entertained the idea, he was opportunistic in his receptivity, he sought what he could get out of this and assurances. To hell with Bandage and his thread - this was all about The Puke and his betterment.

We were going to burn Puke and we have.

Now the second in command in the illegitimate thread has shown his treachery. His dalliance with a proposition presented to him turned him. The foundations are fucked and Bandage finds a whole world of scandal on his round shoulders.

All kudos to my great and eternal comrade, TWCB.
