Reports have surfaced claiming we have signed 17 year old Brazilian left back, Abner. He recently tore his cruciate ligament so will most likely not join until next season. His style of play is very similar to that of Maicon.
Iām hearing Totti wonāt be available to play until Christmas with the December 16th clash against Milan being the most likely earliest return date.
Reports are building that Leandro Paredes is ours for a fee between ā¬8-10m. This would be a fantastic bit of business for the fee mentioned. It would be about half of what we paid for Lamela and from my limited YouTube viewing I would say he is of a similar talent. I would imagine that this deal is more likely to happen in the summer as Paredes has no European passport.
Weāve also been linked with a few midfielders. Cabaye who played under Garcia is the most heavily linked, heās a decent player but seems to be a bit of a windy character and I would not pay anymore that ā¬8m for him. Newcastle would probably want triple that. Marco Parolo has been linked as well, heās having a great season with Parma where he has scored 5 goals already. Heās more of a box-to-box midfielder who offers a goal threat - quite similar to Strootman and Bradley. Marquinho going in the opposite direction is mooted to be part of this deal as well who I donāt think is Roma quality. Iād be happy to take Parolo but I also think we need somebody who can fill in for Pjanic, we donāt really have anyone else in midfield who can step into that creative slot - unless Paredes is targeted to fill that role.
Weāre also being linked with Nantes striker Filip Djordjevic whose contract expires at the end of the season. Heās in good form in Ligue 1 at the moment having scored 7 goals but I donāt think heās anything special. Weāre also linked with River Plateās young Colombian centre back Eder Balanta.
