Deservedly 1-0 down here
Mbiwa goes close with a header
Strootman gone off injured. Signing out
45 minutes to save our season. Time to get Destro on from the start, time to be daring, time to be audacious.
1-1 Ljajic.
Come on.
Iturbe should have given us the lead.
The league is over, Garcia is too conservative.
Looks like Destro is off to Milan on an 18 month loan while Luiz Adriano will replace him.
I am not happy with this at all.
yep, too many points dropped recently, very frustrting
We’re signing Konoplyanka for €14m.
De Rossi is out for three weeks.
We have bought Mbwia for €7m.
Destro looks like he is off to Milan on loan and they can buy him permanently for €17m at the end of the season.

Isn’t he the chap that was linked to Liverpool for a year or two? Probably means Salah won’t be coming. Luiz Adriano deal also appears to have fallen by the wayside.
That’s him
We only have one non-EU spot up for grabs so that rules out the other two, don’t see the point in buying another winger and getting shot of our only out and out striker worth his salt. I been quite vocal about this before but I can’t stand teams not playing a natural striker. We should be playing Totti off a striker, we should be going more assertive and attacking in the majority of our games. Garcia is annoying me of late, he is too conservative, he doesn’t like playing with a striker and he is too loyal to senior players - the likes of Ucan and Paredes should have been afforded much more opportunities this year.
I like Konplyanka, I think he’s a good player but I don’t understand the logic of letting the only striker of worth we have go and buying another winger where I believe we are reasonably well covered - particularly when Gervinho returns. Garcia has done a good job but he has lost the plot in the last two months. We should also be signing a right back.

How many starts has he made this season? How many goals has he scored in total?
8 Serie A starts 5 goals.
2 starts in the Coppa and CL - 0 goals.
The big thing for Destro, like any striker, is continuity, he needs a prolonged run in the team, not being swapped in and out every other game and given 5 or 10 minutes near the end when we’re chasing a result.
His overall record for Roma is
26 of his 29 goals have came in his 37 starts for Roma.
26 goals in 37 starts, all from play, is lethal - particularly in Serie A.
To break in down further.
He has 5 goals in 8 Coppa Italia starts
21 goals in 29 starts in Serie A.
All from play.
And it’s also worth noting that he has played a considerable amount of those games out wide rather in his preferred position down the middle, Destro is hugely underrated. He’s been badly managed at Roma, he could be the next Bobo Vieri.
Have injuries been an issue or does the manager just not fancy him? Very strange to loan him to rivals.
Garcia, like a lot of managers these days, sees an out and out striker as a luxury. I don’t understand it, he has thrown Destro on in three of our most recent games for 10-15 minutes (Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina) to go and grab the win. He should be starting games - just look at his scoring record when he does start games. He’s too conservative, that stats don’t lie - if Destro starts then he scores goals, he’s shown that he can be quite ineffective coming off the bench with only a short time remaining. It’s bad management.
I’d imagine Destro is forcing the move as he’s been quite vocal about his unhappiness at not playing. Garcia doesn’t fully trust him. He’s supposedly turned down a big money move to Wolfsburg as he wants to go to Milan.

And what about his injury report sheet?
He’s been pretty much injury free since November 2013.
