What a player Ljajic has become, he looked like a gutless prima donna last season but he has been our best player by far this season and has shown real leadership qualities in tough times this season. He’s the type of player you’d pay to watch, lovely balance and poise on the ball, he reminds me of Luis Figo.
Was very excited when united “signed” him. Still not convinced with the work permit story. Glad to see he’s developed well. He is everything Figo could have been.
Looks inevitable Harris will go, possibly before the season end. A few names have been cropping up:
Spalletti
Mazzarri
Emery
Di Francesco
I’d also expect Prandelli to be considered. I loved Spalletti’s time at Roma and he’s a great coach but I don’t think he is what we need right now. I’d like Mazzarri or Di Francesco from that lot. I’d like to see Roma go with a 3-4-3 formation now and Mazzarri will bring that, things didn’t work out with Inter but I feel he was a little short changed there in terms of attacking reinforcements. Di Francesco’s side play adventurous football and he’s a Romanista at heart, done a great job at Sassuolo.
The players and manager have shamed Roma over the past 4 months, gutless displays from the players and Garcia’s stubbornness, tactical flexibility and refusal to give more players a chance ahead of under performing ones has been the most disappointing.
Totti deserves his place in the team but not as a striker, it’s not his game and it makes it easy for the opposition to defend. We need to play with a striker, oddly Garcia never decided to play the best striker in Italy and he left as a result in January. We then brought what looks like to be some African no-hoper who has failed to score since arriving. I’d just give Sanabria a chance to be honest, we paid a decent sum of money for him given his age and lack of first team action until but we obviously paid it because we thought he had the potential to be special, give him his opportunity to show that.
Team I’d like to see:
De Sanctis
Torosidis Manolas Mbwia Holebas
De Rossi Nainggolan
Iturbe Totti Ljajic
Sanabria
If Totti isn’t fit then I’d like to see Paredes get his place.
Pjanic gives us the lead, all started by a great sliding pass from Nainggolan in the middle of the pitch, Iturbe who has been really lively made the decisive play and Florenzi squared for the oncoming Pjanic.
