The GAA Infrastructure Thread

Kerry will need to up their hurling game to join the cash cow that is the Munster Senior Hurling Championship to justify this.

They’ll vote in an alternate year P Ui C/Fitz Stadium arrangement for the finals with their dear friends over the border

Clare say no

I see they are all calling for more of these Astro-Domes and 4G Pitches to be built now with all Harty Cup games being played on Artificial surfaces this week.

I’d be digging them all up if I’d my way and knocking down that Spaceship in Connacht.

The centre is Connacht is an excellent facility. I wouldnt go along with playing competitive games in it, but it is outstanding and should be one in each province.

That’s what happens when you decide to play fuck all important games in June and July and fix everything for the shoulders of the year.

Dont be getting worked up lads, the Harty Cup matters as much as the Fitzgibbon and Sigerson, fuck all.

Schools matches are meant to be played in Bansha/Ballygibblon/Ballyhea. The one shop village in that lovely triangle where Tipp/Cork/Linerick intersect.

Not at some Coolmore/Adare Manor sportswashing project in Fethard or UL

Agreed. All schools matches should be played in shithole swamps.

Have you seen pitches? Like swamps.

I lined my own club pitch Sunday morning for an U15 County Final and it was grand.

I dont think there was a single game lost in Tipp at the weekend due to pitches. Ardfinnan looked the finest for the Intermediate Football final and so did Nenagh for the Hurling.

The traditional Harty Cup pitches as mentioned above are all well used to games played in terrible weather. Making blanket calls for everything to go on 4G is the wrong way to go about it.

I have a memory of playing schools matches in Boherlahan and Kilsheelan.

I’ve played in Clonmel, Ardfinnan, Araglin, Kilfinane, Goatenbridge, Mitchelstown; all in the general area defined by @peddlerscross

There isn’t too many pitches in Cork available. The pity about astro pitched is it lessens the chances of shocks.

That’s cos cork is a swamp mate

Where Dairygold are strong is generally a good idea of where a Harty Cup match should be played.

How many Harty Cups have Cnoc Sion? Not a name you hear of being competitive at schools level nowadays.

At this time of year save pitches for games that actually matter - county finals and the like.

Play the schools game’s on astro or decide by rock, paper, scissors.

4G should be banned for matches in all sports. There is a long term injury effect that we havent seen yet.
